What's the weirdest baby name?

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

I knew someone named Princess, she was an adult. So I am guessing that her parents were sort of revolutionaries heehee She is probably about 30 now, give or take 3-4 years.

Actually, there is a local woman whose first name is Princella. She carries herself very royally and elegantly...a great role model for young girls and women. Maybe she would have been that way anyway?:redpinkhe

working everywhere from nicu to ccu, i've seen several names that were not in the "norm". i went to school with a boy named rusty. his last name was head. my own son's middle name is quest. but of the most unusual, here are the ones that come to mind:

pancake jamesa, henauder titzhoff (seriously...that was his name...), f'molly (she was female. the 15 year old mom just kept saying her baby name was f'molly), patricia (patti) coats, then there was the couple that had john wayne and kirk douglas, and the quadruplets all named after texas towns and counties: travis, austin, katy, carroll.

Tallulah was named after the actress Tallulah Bankhead, Rumer was named after the author Rumer Godden, and Scout was named after a character in a classic novel but I forget which one it was.

OMG!You would not believe some of the names I have heard in 24 years of nursing!:eek!: For example:Stone Cold Steve Austin(this was just the first name),Girl Baby(poor thing was baby #12 and parents had ran out of ones they liked),twins named Lemonjello and Orangejello(look closely at this one,Placenta,Lochia,Rubra...I could go on!These are all actual names.I think that it should be a crime to do that to a child.

Okay went to school with Benjamin Dover every one called him ben. Thats right " Hi I am Ben dover" doesn't work well in locker rooms.:D:D:D:D:D

Oh and I might as well state that my older sister is Stella Blue (grateful dead song) Oh yeah Mom was a hippie, younger sister Elisha Sweetheart. I ended up with a normal name and we are irish, jewish mix so go figure?:yeahthat:

My sister names her first daughter, Sunshynne Rae and her second, Summer Marie.

I have heard a few crazy ones at work but never kept them in my head. Now I knowthis thread is here so i will keep an ear out for some crazies.

Just had a patient name her baby, Precious Angel. Last name: Stoner.

Sisters names are Asia and Passion....Stoner.

I asked a pt once what the name of the baby girl was... she said

Moonbeam Sunrise-Cherry now mind you their last name is a very very common and they have 2 son's whos name are John and Brian... I asked her how she came up with that name she said she was conceved at sunrise and she loves cherries and thinks moonbeams are pretty... It took all i could do not to laugh..

I went to nursing school with a Queen Esther. It's a name I've run into several times among older Southern African-American ladies (my classmate was younger than most I've seen).

when i was still a BSN student, i overheard a dad saying he wanted his newborn daughter to be named after his ex-GF.....SHOKLAH! waaaaattt???
