What's your favorite pair of nursing shoes?

Which brand and why? For some reason, I've tried NB, Adidas and my feet still hurt!!!! Maybe I need to buy those gel soles or something..

Specializes in ICU.

Leather (not suede) etnies. I love them.

Specializes in ER/Geriatrics.
Specializes in L&D,Wound Care, SNC.

Another Crocs fan here! I also like Birki's by Birkenstock. However, on a very busy night, my feet would hurt with the Birki's.

Zcoils sound great. I may get them when I start in October. I broke my ankle in may. Still walk slow. Also, a pin is hitting my Achillies, and supportive shoes help that too (pin will be removed next year).

I tend to limp when i walk too much. I do it much less in my old gym shoes, so I hope Zcoils will work wonders.

If anyone thinks that will work for me, or can suggest another shoe, please do!

Thanks.

Ditto on Crocs for me!! :)

Unfortunately, you're going to have to do like me and just keep trying until you find a pair you like. I used to not be able to wear nurse mates, now there are a couple of styles that I wear and have absolutely no problem with, but other styles of nurse mates will kill my feet, so you will have to just find what works for you. Also, SAS also makes nursing shoes, they are pricey but very comfy:mad: . Good luck on your shoe adventure, you'll find what you need, just don't be afraid to go to the stores to try them on. If you find one you like, go on the Internet to see if you can get it cheaper if you feel like the store is charging high $$$$. Also, if you find one you like, buy 2 or 3 pairs so that you have a new pair for when the original pair conks out!

Just got my first pair of Crocs a couple weeks ago and I love them!!! I used to swear by Nike Shox, but after trying Crocs I will never go back!

Specializes in ER.

:redpinkhe Nothing beats Crocs or Nothinz and the RackRoom brand is great also. I have worn Dansko's and they are okay but nothing beats Crocs for a 12 hour shift in the ER. Just watch out for blood between the holes :)

Specializes in Transplant - Liver & Kidney.
Easy Spirits.

you can buy them @ JCpenneys or online. Maybe not the best looking shoe, but I love them. Another nurse I used to work with swore by them too. When you put them on it feels like you're walking on a cloud!!! In fact - I need to go buy a new pair soon!

I cant wear nursemates - they make my pinky toe go numb. Go figure- I dont wear a wide either, its just that brand that does it.

I thought I was the only person with the "numb toe syndrome"! I find that when I work in backless shoes my big toes go numb for some strange reason.

My favorite shoes so far are Propets, mine are all leather with leather in-sole and excellent arch support. Unfortunately, I can't find another pair like them so I've been shopping around. Nothing great so far. Strong_willed is right. You just have to spend some money trying out different shoes until you find your perfect match. I was even able to sell a pair on eBay that didn't quite work out. :wink2:

I used to wear Birkis.....but recently bought a pair of Crocs.....They are the best! 12 hour shift with no foot aches.

Specializes in LTC, rehab, and now office nursing.

I loved my old Rockers but after reading all the posts about Crocs, I must buy a pair. I have back problems and my Rockers were the best- then they wore out and I could not find another pair like them, so I went with NurseMates. They are good but I still have to try these Crocs- I know there are knock off's but where to buy the good ones? I normally don't care for clogs but don't these have a strap on the back? What are the price ranges? :nurse:

Specializes in cardiac.

A pair of rubbery clogs that I found on the internet for $10.00. Cheap version of croc's. Even wore them while I was pregnant and bedside nursing. Still wear them outside. Light as air and cushiony!!!!!!!
