Which brand and why? For some reason, I've tried NB, Adidas and my feet still hurt!!!! Maybe I need to buy those gel soles or something..

I agree with the saucony,They rock my feets world! Im suprised i was allowed to wear the ones i have bc i got some that have mess and a good bit of silver, but my k-swiss shoes sucked they were flat soles i wore them for geri 1 clinicals and never again, and the doctor sholes or whatever were ok but by the end of this last summer session they are to streched out to wear and look decent.

Someone on the OR nurses board told me about C&C clogs. They're designed by an RN and they're handmade in Sweden.. Similar to Danskos/Sanitas but even more comfortable. The sole is softer and springier. They don't have backs on them, but you can get a backstrap. They come in funky patterns, patent leather, and the usual colors.

They are comparable in price to Danskos/Sanitas but there is a code you can use that brings the price down. These shoes are incredible...

I have worn wooden clogs for years. I know it sounds crazy, but they are sooooo awesome. They have a THICK rubber sole but the foot bed is wood. I am on my second pair. TROENTORPS by Bastad is the brand I believe they are from Sweden but it might be Denmark. I was a diehard Dansko fan until I tried these on. They are much lower to the floor and have incredible support.

I posted a reply on THIS thread. Good luck!

Hasn't anyone ever tried Dansko's? I never heard of them before moving to A2, but they're great! I also dig my crocs, but they're not exactly biomedically sound-I have several pair of blood/betadine stained socks!

Dansko's hurt.

i wear nothing but nike shox for work. i've had nursemates, crocs, and quarks. all of them were ok and i didn't have a lot of "pain" even after 12 hrs but my legs and feet were really tired at the end of a shift. someone recommended the shox to me so i tried them and love love love them! i can work an entire 12 hr shift and my feet and legs are still happy at the end of the shift!

Birkenstock, they are made in germany, expensive but worth every penny. They align your posture and therefore take the strain off everywhere. They have a cork soul, which surrounds the foot as it gets softer and hugs your feet giving great support. They are something to get used to, they are different and wonderful. I could not wear anything else now.

I agree with you, I love Birkis as well. Way better than Dansko.

MBT's are the best for me!!!!

I only wear New Balance 926 with Spenco Runner/Walker inserts. The shoes are at least $100.00 but shoebuy.com often has some great sales at 20% off. That's when I stock up. The Spenco inserts are a little under $20.00 a pair.

My foot doc recommended the Spenco inserts. New Balance shoes almost always fit me wonderfully since they have various width sizes. I order a wide width although my foot isn't exactly wide. The New Balance 926 has plenty of toe room so my toes aren't smashed.

I have flat feet, a Morton's neuroma on the ball of my foot (just below 3rd and 4th toe), and ocassionally I struggle with plantar fasciiatis.

I work 12hr shifts and my shoes feel like butter on my feet. No more foot pain! My shoes fit perfectly new out of the box! I wouldn't wear ANY shoe that required a so called "break in period". That's just nonsense! I read somewhere that good fitting shoes shouldn't require a break in period.

I also wear TED compression hose knee length.

Since wearing this combo of New Balance, Spenco, and TED hose I never have to elevate my feet and legs when I finish my 12hr shift!

I wear a new pair of the 926's with new inserts every four months. And the old ones I use for kickin around in, shopping, running errands, etc. Of course after thoroughly washing them! hehe!
