What's your favorite pair of nursing shoes?

Which brand and why? For some reason, I've tried NB, Adidas and my feet still hurt!!!! Maybe I need to buy those gel soles or something..

I bought a pair of imitation crocs for $10 on clearance somewhere. Best $10 I've ever spent. 9 months later I still have them and they're still comfortable. The bottoms are practically worn down to nothing, so I have to replace them soon. Probably with non-crocs though...sadly...my institution banned them. I've been getting away with it for now but I know sooner or later my manager is going to notice and get on my case about it.

why did they ban crocs? I've heard about thoes nursing shoes.. are they really comfortable as everyone says? :heartbeat:nuke::):nurse::nurse::nurse:

birkenstock clogs

I regret ever buying my Dansko Professionals... and apparently I'm the only one in this post who disagrees w/ buying them. I've almost twisted my ankle three times w/ them on and they're just way too heavy to walk in. I'll take my Nike Shox any day. :)

I highly recommend going to a "running/athletic" store in your community. I went to a locally owned store and the owner was very knowledgable and looked at how I walked and helped me to determine the best pair of shoes for me. Everybody has different feet, body mechanics, etc., you really need to have a "shoe professional" to help determine the brand that is best for each individual foot type.

I live in birkenstocks and dansko in my "real life", but for nursing, they just don't seem to fit the bill.

I found it. Finally, my perfect shoe. Rockport ProWalkers are great, I've got to have shoes with good arch support. Found them!

I would really go for NurseMates! they are practically the best choice for nursing shoes! it last longer and the comfort that they give really suits our job as nurses.

Hey im looking into a new pair of shoes and im interested in Birks.. I am curious to know what store do you get them from?

Thanks!

I usually order mine from either footprints.com or birkenstockexpress.com

i love them...

Lace up Crocs!

What are lace up crocs??

I resisted buying crocs for a long time, but finally broke down and got a pair. Oh my goodness, they are the only shoes that don't make my feet hurt by the 10th hour. I also wear the Urbane clogs that don't have the holes on the top. Nike Shox are my 2nd choice depending on how I am feeling that day.

Again..WOOH!:yeah: for Crocs! Ilove them so much, I even got a pair to wear around on my holidays, as did a few of my workmates!

I am in nursing school and for clinical we have to wear all white nursing shoes/sneakers. They can not have any other color on them. I wear a pair of Klogs white clogs and they are very comfortable. The only problem I have is I am not used to wearing a shoe with a fairly open back on it and this makes it harder for me to walk fast/run in them. At my job this summer as a CNA, I rotated between wearing my Klogs and a pair of New Balance running shoes. New Balance are the best!!! I feel very sturdy on my feet with New Balance and feel like I could run from one end to the hall to the other in them! lol Several of my schoolmates have Danskos but I do not like them at all. I feel like I am "walking on wooden blocks" as one person on these forums aptly stated. I would recommend a pair of New Balance running sneakers for any nurse!
