Yes i took my boards august 11th.. and i passed :-) very happy about that. I am hoping to be in ICU in a few years but its very hard as a new grad to get into a specialty. I am currently pursuing a job on a step down unit. Everyone thinks that South will choose outsiders but that is false. All of my friends that applied from south got in but a good majority also got in from outside schools. They pick the best fit.. believe it or not some people still apply when the 'checklist' is not complete. I advice you to get a per diem job in a hospital so you have your foot in the door so when you graduate you will not have a difficult time getting a job, I heard they got rid of the net test but didnt know what they replaced it with. can you tell me more about the TEAS exam?? (my husband is looking to get into nursing as well) Thanks!

wait list? average gpa? selection process? Good/Bad experiences? Instrructors helpful or not? The program is 18 months after completion of your prereq's -The wait list... I was never on one... i applied and had everthing taken care of (prereq's, NET test, physical and payment) -The average GPA they look for is above 2.5 but obviously the higher the gpa the better off you are... i had above a 3.0.. and came out of the program just a little above a 3.0 lol! -Good/Bad- Well... it is a stressful situation. Your put in unfamiliar territories that freak you out at first.. i have no real bad experiences from this program.. we did lose alot of people from our beginning class so you just always have to keep your game up and study like crazy.. however my friends and i knew how to unwind and relax when we needed to. I found that to be very important. -the instructors were AMAZING. You will have some ups and downs but you discover at the end they were hard on you because they want to see you succeed and do well.. it was a very happy last quarter because everyones guards were down and we really found collages instead of 'instructors'. they are always 'there' for you when your having issues and you always have someone to talk to.. everyone was great.. Hope this was helpful to you! oh by the way.. you cant do online BSN program until you completed your AS in nursing.. :-) so why not just go and get your bachelors outta the way one time?
