  1. I have loved all the replies I have had they have been inspiring, funny and I feel so proud of all you wonderful nurses and I am so glad there are others out there like me and others who I would like to aspire to !
  2. I am an older female student I live in England, and I'll tell you I can't stand all the drama either, so I think it might be the age. I have heard one male student say that he goes home with a headache from all the constant chatter and drama! I certainly have a lot of things to talk about besides nursing and tests. I am really quite embarrised with females sometimes and get quite upset with all the rubbish that they talk about. what can I say your brave !
  3. Birkenstock, they are made in germany, expensive but worth every penny. They align your posture and therefore take the strain off everywhere. They have a cork soul, which surrounds the foot as it gets softer and hugs your feet giving great support. They are something to get used to, they are different and wonderful. I could not wear anything else now.
  4. Thank you for getting back to me. I was wanting the PDF Files for Preop care plan for surgical patient and post anaesthesia care plan. Thankyou I really like reading your suggestions and sharing your knowledge.
  5. i would love to see the pdf files. can't find how to send a pm
  6. If you are british, naturalised as an american you go into uk on british pass and into us on a us pass. I was told this when entering the uk with the american pass that i had used on leaving england 3 wks before.
  7. I am british born, but I became naturalised as an american after living there for 17 years. So I am now a dual citizen. I am living in england now and I can work in both countries. I have to file american taxes, but because I have no money being earnt there either in wages or property etc. I do not have to pay anything. I do pay english taxes, it evens out in the end. If you have a green card you are only aloud out of the country for a year at a time. You could go back and forth to keep it valid. You can still work here on that too. But I do not think you would get benefits such as social security. It is best you become a citizen and do it soon it gets more expensive each year. I do not know about your husbands status in england with all of this, make sure you find out. But because I have been back and forth right from my childhood I have had to research things. Let me know
  8. Last september I enrolled myself in a degree course in Adult nursing. I am 56. I have been a nurses aide most of my life and also previously started this course in the 70's. Because I still love the work and feel much younger I have decided to do it again despite it all. But now reading some of these threads it is so nice to know that I am not the only one who wants to work because I have to for my mind body and soul. I feel inspired and motivated to carry on, because it is hard and I'm feeling a little poor. I am in the UK, but am dual british/american. Here there are cumpulsory retirement ages, but it is gradually going to be a thing of the past.
