There are some really terrific phrases here. I have 2 to add ---

for work - when in doubt, err on the SAFE side. Has guided me well during my career.

for life in general - life's too short, so eat dessert first.

We have this one on our wall and surround it with all of our accomplishments in frames. Our kids (and their friends!) take pride in getting something "On the wall".

My Mantra: everything happens for a reason and everything is in God's hand... since there are things that are beyond our control, it's easier for me to accept both negative and positive things!

I heard this over the summer while on staff with a youth baseball leadership camp at the Naval Academy and I feel it applies to many aspects of the profession - the 'shortage', patient care / advocacy, etc. This was also the closing line of my personal statement essay in my application.
