Technology Advice for Nursing School
I have an IPad mini also and there is an app called Notability that will allow you to record lectures and take notes. I would highly recommend it! :)

Dosage question
Hi Laurie121! In the first problem, you need to convert the ml/hr to gtts/min. Here is how I would set up the first problem.. 125ml/1hr x 15 gtts/1ml x 1hr/60min. If you cancel out what needs to be cancelled, you will get to gtts/min. I hope this helps and that you will be able to figure out the second one. (hint..cc's and ml's are the same..) :)

Mean/Competitive nursing school classmates
Wow... I am so sorry your experience was like that. I found just the opposite in my program. I have met people and we are the best of friends, they are like my second family. Even people that aren't in my specific class are willing to help. "We are all in this together" is said a lot! There are some that are cut throat yes, but the majority aren't.

I have to wear one.

Wound Care
I had my wound care check off and I have to retake it due to the fact that I broke sterile field. My instructor told me that part of my lab coat entered into the field, thus contaminating it. I didn't realize it had happened when I was performing the skill. Does anyone have any tricks to keeping this from happening again? She said that I did everything else perfectly but obviously, I can't contaminate the field.

Books I should read before school starts?
I would recommend getting "Fluid and Electrolytes Made Easy" and read that whenever you have a chance.

Top 10 Nursing Supplies
I am going to say an IPhone. Even if you can't use is when you are at the hospital, it is so helpful with studies, organization and just flat out handy. I know they are a lot of money, but they are worth every penny. One of the less expensive things to get is notecards. I use a ton!

Starting my journey summer 2013!
Congratulations on your decision! You won't regret it. I loved A&P and had a fantastic professor. I hope your experiance is equally as good. I am in my first semester of the program and have used had to look back at my A&P notes to refresh my memory on things. Take good notes and really try to cement what you are learning into your brain, you will use it again. Best of luck to you!!

What happens if I fail out?
I am shocked by your attitude OP. Please rethink your choice of being a Nurse. Compassion is such a huge part of the job and it may be something you are lacking.

And when people try to give you advice.... It is too long for you to read...

What happens if I fail out?
Balloon face? I hope an adult nursing student wouldn't stoop to such a level.

What happens if I fail out?
Wow... I too didn't know what that meant. OP, perhaps you should look towards a new profession if you are not willing to "listen" to what people have to say. It is a MUST for a nurse.
