  1. Sorry I was not very clear. And yes I was typing in my phone! I have lab once a week at school and clinicals once a week, but the class material is online, we do not have seminars. I have to do it this way because I work full time and a single mom. I was really just asking if anybody could recommend a way that they study or if there is a source out there that helps them with exams the most. I have 2 B.S. degrees so it is not a learning disability, it is a matter of application of the material of the way that they word the questions, like what is the BEST answer, etc.
  2. thanks just actually ordered the Saunders NCLEX book from Amazon and waiting for it. I do have other sources like the study guide, but I am in a hybrid program so my classes are only and they have modules that focus on what we should know, just so much information! thanks for your response.
  3. So we need an average of 75% on all of our exams before they will count anything else for our grade and to pass the class. Needless to say I am not doing very well, my average is only 70% on the exams. Can anybody recommend anything that has helped them on exams? I have the fundamentals for success book but it only has like 30 questions for each section and I think my problem is not understanding the info it is application and picking the BEST answer. thanks for any help.
  4. thanks, the answer the teacher has is 31 gtts/min, but I don't get that for what you said. thanks!
  5. I have 2 dosage questions that I have no idea how to figure out, it is for gravity drip rate. Here are the questions. 1. An IV is ordered to run at 125 ml/hr. The IV tubing has a drop factor of 15 gtt/ml. What is the gravity drip rate the patient is to receive? 2. IV fluids are ordered as follows, 1000 cc NSS to infuse at 250 cc/hr. The IV tubing drop factor is 10 gtt/ml. What is the gravity drip rate the patient is to receive? Thanks for any help!
  6. I can't pm either, can you tell me the state you are in? thanks
  7. I actually got into the Occupational Therapy Assistant program at CCBC and declined it. I just don't think I would enjoy anything else. thanks
  8. Thanks for the responses. I have spoken to the admissions at both colleges and they both said it would be a waste to repeat classes. I have looked into ban programs and unfortunately I would have to take organic chem and bio chem. I have looked into other fields too like surg tech and radiology , but I just can't see myself going into debt for something I can make the same money at working now. Chelsea, is Anne Arundel competitive? I know they take Anne Arundel residents before out of county residents.
  9. I have 2 Bachelor of Science degrees, not science related. Two years ago I decided to go back to school to pursue a career in nursing. Had I known how hard it was to get in, I probably would not have wasted my time or money taking my science prereq's. To late to complain about that, I can't get in anywhere near me! I have been denied twice by 2 schools. My GPA is 3.10. I am not going to retake any of my classes, I don't have the time or money to do that. I am just wondering where do I go from here. I put my whole life on hold when I decided to go back to school, and since I got laid off now I have no clue what I am going to do with my life. I cry about it all of the time. All I want to do is be a nurse. I live in Maryland and I have a son that is 1, so I can't just pick up and move. Thanks for any advice.
  10. thanks, what did you put in to find the flashcards for the TEAS? I put in TEAS V and only like 5 things came up.
  11. thanks so much for your responses. Unfortunately I did not score very high on the TEAS test, wish I could find a school near me that did not require it but they all do.
  12. what parts on his site do you recommend studying for the TEAS?
  13. I have a 2 Bachelor of Science degrees, but not in nursing. Looking for an online school that has a 2nd bachelors program. Doubt one exists, but just thought I would ask.

I just got denied to my second nursing school because of this TEAS test. I have 2 Bachelor of Science degrees, that were not science related. I just finished taking my A&P 1 and 2 and Micro at a community college. I now have everything needed to get into nursing school and my GPA is a 3.3. I was not denied based on my GPA, but on my TEAS score which is a 56%. I bought the McGraw study book and did not find it helpful at all. I feel like my whole life is up in the air because I have no clue what I am going to do if I don't get in. I just feel like I wasted a year and a half of taking sciences for nothing. I dont' know which avenue to take, as all colleges require this. I am willing to study and retake the TEAS, but I am so nervous and my whole nursing acceptance being based ont his, not even my classes is just nuts to me. Any recommendations? thanks for any help!
