This is a continuation of another thread that got comical (and as per requested by mama_d)...what would you like to chart if you can get away with it?
Here are some of mine; "Idiot resident placed in ridiculous order that would kill patient. Decided that I love my license better than this and decided not to do it, but will if he gives me HIS arm rather than the patient's. Collaborated with DON, Nsg. Supervisor and got a good laugh" signed...LPN who will keep her license at all costs:typing:nurse:
Or: "Patient requested for nursing staff to go to McDonald's for the Big Mac special to relieve his distress (this actually happened, folks). Informed that errand running off the grounds is not within scope of practice or hospital policy.
What are yours??

One wins by either removing oneself from the gene pool by dying or rendering onself incapable of reproducing.
"Pt found doing jumping jacks and attempting to use IV/PCA tubing for jump rope. Asked for free weights b/c 'A body like this is hard work.' FWIW, pt's BMI is approximately 80...5' even and about 500 lbs. Upon being denied free weights, pt falls into bed, pulling out IV line, and states pain at 20/10. Staff tell patient to restart IV site her **** self, we're too busy to deal with her BS. Call placed to MD, PCA d/c'd. MD tired of dealing with drama as well, orders thorazine/haldol/ativan/valium combo IM. Given in pt's generous behind with largest needle available. Pt transferred to another unit while knocked out b/c we're tired of dealing with her crap and it's someone else's turn now."
I love it that we all get the same patients...over and over and over again...and deal with the same docs...
It's enough to make your head spin sometimes. I keep telling my hubby that we're lucky I don't have time to drink/do drugs/skydive/insert other high risk behavior, b/c between my patients, the docs, and my kids, I have every reason to do so!

Yeah, that reproduction thingy is hard, because the difficult patients usually come from crap assed parents/families:D.
