Hello everyone!
I am going back to the bedside after having an office job for a while. I recently got married and am wondering what I should do with my wedding ring.
My ring slips off easily, but if I get it resized any smaller, it will not fit over my knuckle. I don't want it to slip off when frequently taking off gloves, and I have tried silicone rings like Qalo, and I have the same issue.
What does everyone else do with their wedding rings?
Thanks!
Why? Are you any less married, do you love your wife less without wearing your ring, or is your commitment only valid if you are wearing a physical object around your finger? Why is it important that total strangers whom you will likely never see again after discharge know anything about your personal life? For that matter, why would or should it matter to them if you are single or married?
I would assume because the symbol is incorporated different ways by different people. Maybe they like the original sentiment behind it and the memory of their spouse/wedding/etc. that it can evoke throughout the day. Maybe to some it's more like having that supportive loved one with you throughout the day. Who knows. I pretty sure the sentiment sans ring is simply a feeling of "something missing" - not "OMG, I'm gonna be so tempted if I'm not wearing that!!"
I stopped wearing mine quite awhile ago because my rings felt grimy with the hand sanitizer. But it's been on my list for awhile to check out some alternatives - just because. In my mind I would simply prefer it.

Who's to say he's got a wife? Could be a husband!!
On topic....I leave mine at home and if I do wear one, it's an El-Cheapo one that cost under $10

I wear my wedding band. It's plain platinum and on the thin side. I've never had any problems with dermatitis, despite washing and hand-sanitizing over and over again throughout my shift.
My engagement ring, however, is worn on a chain around my neck. I don't want to wear rings with stones at work, both from an infection control standpoint and to avoid potentially harming a patient's skin. When I'm home, I can easily take it off the chain and wear it on my finger again, and if I forget to take it off before I go back to work, it's easy enough to put it back on my necklace before I get report (I never take off my necklace). I lose things easily, and I'm afraid I would put it someplace "safe" and never find it again. My wedding band and engagement ring never really come off, but sometimes they're on my finger and sometimes on my necklace.
