Quite a bit of people including the scientific community which Democrats tended to listen to.  Trump promised a vaccine before the election and everyone scoffed, including the scientific community, and we listened to them and highly doubted it.

When it came out there was a lot of hesitancy because it came out too soon, but for the most part people rejoiced.  Biden thanked the Trump administration and Democrats changed their tune and lined up.

It was Trump's finest hour and he should have done so much more in getting people vaccinated by the way of promoting it.  It would have been an about face for the most part because he downplayed it and other "cures" so much.  But still he could have got vaccinated in public, toured and promoted the vaccine, even stroked his ego about it and went out with a bang.

Instead he chose to focus on the fantasy that the election was rigged and he was the true President.

All this is water under the bridge.  We have to address the situation today instead of looking backwards.  The president and governors, particularly those in the South have huge problems with vaccine hesitancy and the Delta variant.  Lets get this done together.

I live in a blue bubble and don't know a single person who didn't line up to get the vaccine.  Never heard a single naysayer.  We could distinguish between the guy in office who took credit for drug researchers doing what comes naturally to them, and didn't believe that he contributed anything to the actual intellectual activity that went into fast-tracking a drug.  I thought what K. Harris said was really stupid but I don't know any Dems who would listen to her anyway.  Alabama and Arkansas governors have caved in to rationality But DeSantis and Abbot do not possess the grace or intellegence to do any such thing.

She said that she didn't trust Trump...that's much different than not trusting the science or the vaccines.  That reality is regularly misrepresented by Trumpers.

Did she really ever think that Trump "alone" would somehow influence the drug companies to manufacture a defective vaccine?

I only know that Trump was trying to rush the vaccine's to market and his judgement and intentions are fully corrupt.  I know that Trump worked hard to diminish the credibility of the NIH and CDC...Trump wanted Trump to be the authority on all covid narratives.

If trump had anything to do with the vaccine why was he so consistently denouncing it? Why was he touting bleach injections and HCQ or sunlight etc?

He doesn't have the intelligence to even understand the rudimentary aspects of vaccines. He probably shut down the moment someone mentioned biology or Chemistry! He doesn't read or was patient enough to even get the briefs. Fox noise certainly didn't show anything educational!

Somehow I think I didn't make myself clear.  I thought I said that he had nothing to do with the development of the vaccine except taking the credit for something he had no part of.  And I also said that it was dumb of KHarris to say what she said since there was never going to be a "Trump Vaccine."  That was already giving him too much credit.  Sometimes it's wiser to say nothing.

Sorry didn't mean to imply that you said trump had anything to do with the vaccine. I was just using the post to make a point that I don't believe that he has the capacity to even understand what a vaccine is, much less promote its development.

I think that we are about to find out how much social distancing and social isolation protected our children from covid.  When we send the unvaccinated 5-12 year old kids to school in places like Alabama where fewer than 40% of eligible adults are vaccinated, we are going to generate a great deal of data. That data will be advanced at the expense of our children.  IMV

I don't see anything here but the same old tired rhetoric as if there is no other topic than President 45.

We wouldn't be having this conversation if it weren't for President 45.  We could be living with much less chaos and Covid if he had never been president.  The harm he has done with extend for a couple of generations.  His moronic legacy left us with existential problems that aren't just going away.  I would be open to discussions about another existential problem:  immigration, just to hear other people's ideas because I sure don't have any. But right now Covid has even overtaken that topic because of their infection rates.  Leader 25, what are your ideas for a solution?

Then you're not reading very carefully there as there are other topics.  Yes, often people deflect back to Trump and his followers and I'm a bit weary of that.  I personally would like to avoid him but sadly he's still a topic.  He makes sure of that.

And it's not all the same old rhetoric, he provides plenty of new rhetoric for us to discuss.  Calling the US women's soccer team leftist maniacs.

Lloyd scored right before the end of the first half and then again right after the start of the second half. She became the first U.S. women’s soccer player to score in four different Olympics. It was the 10th Olympic goal for Lloyd, breaking a record previously held by Abby Wambach.
