The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right. “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes.
“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” he writes in the document, labeled as the “Opinion of the Court.” “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”
...The draft shows that the court is looking to reject Roe’s logic and legal protections.

So abortion will be decided by politicians and not courts.
Democrat governors have are already starting to indicate what they will do and that's to protect abortion rights. Alabama governor is praying that it is indeed overturned but concerned about the leak saying "a blatant attempt to manipulate the sacred procedures of the U.S. Supreme Court". A bit melodramatic, but he does have a point. There is a procedure for them to announce their judgements.
DeSantis hasn't weighed in yet, but no doubt where he'll go with this.
Apparently only 29% of the public polled late last year want Roe Vs. Wade completely overturned. But opinions are all over the place after that. So the politicians that will ban abortion are going against public opinion.
Florida politicians are echoing concerns about the breach in the Supreme Court with our Senator Rubio tweeting
"The next time you hear the far left preaching about how they are fighting to preserve our Republic’s institutions & norms remember how they leaked a Supreme Court opinion in an attempt to intimidate the justices on abortion."
He also tweeted a Bible quote "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you Jeremiah 1:5" from the Old Testament. Christians are fond of the Old Testament when it suits them.
As expected Democrats are in support of abortion. No statement from DeSantis.
I have yet to hear any Democrat say they are in support of abortion. I would be interested in reading your source about which Democrat is pro-abortion.
What I hear is that they are in support of the women making decisions about their health care. Not politicians, not courts, but the the person who may be or may become pregnant.
Yeah, sure Republicans have their panties in a wad about a breach in norms, but they are just fine with justices who won't recuse when there is a clear conflict of interest.
I am glad my governor announced last night that our state is pro-choice and will ensure the safe, affordable access to every person who needs it.

Democrats aren’t in support of abortion, they are in support of women enjoying the same amount of individual autonomy and freedom to decide their own medical care that men enjoy.

Thanks. I did simplify it by saying Democrat politicians support abortion.
But yes, in fact I think that is the majority American opinion is that a lot of us wouldn't choose abortion, don't necessary agree with abortion, but feel it's not our decision to make for another person who should have that right.

I stand corrected and will use the more politically correct and accurate term "pro-choice" or I will try to since I was already called out for my use of "pro-abortion" a few weeks ago and I'm still saying it.
I guess in my mind's eye saying you are for a woman choosing an abortion you are pro-abortion. My bad.
Most of the politicians in the articles I posted are indeed saying "a women's right to choose" without saying that they are actually "pro-abortion".
But semantics aside, my point is the Democrat politicians are weighing in for a women's right to choose vs. Republicans who are focusing on the leak.
Ultimately I think it can get messy because suppose one government bans it altogether based on this decision, and then in 2022 another brings it back, and back and forth. Or will there be some built in safeguards to keep the ban permanent, or the right to an abortion permanent.

So much for Gorsuch, Coney Barrett and Kavanaugh saying it was established law.
This potentially takes away health care care rights and reduces women to second class citizens. It won't eliminate abortion, it will eliminate safe abortion.
Next I predict outlawing same sex marriage.
This affects men and women equally. Besides it will be a states rights issue like it always should have been.

Its a states right issue. Blue states will allow it and red/purple states may or may not allow it. It's not complicated.

Politico is reporting they have received a draft opinion from the Supreme Court overturning Roe V. Wade.
So much for Gorsuch, Coney Barrett and Kavanaugh saying it was established law.
