Fox News Special Report outlines fresh questions on what Fauci, government knew about COVID origin
Special Report obtained documents showing what was happening behind the scenes in the early days of the pandemic
I'm not really sure what information in this is supposedly newly-revealed (and yes I read the article and watched the video).
First, as I've pointed out before, Fauci should no longer have a position at the NIH given the history of his statements and actions related to funding approval for research that clearly did not meet the biosecurity requirements. But at the same time, we don't have any reliable evidence that Covid-19 originated at a lab in Wuhan.
The supposed smoking gun of the Fox report is that there were scientists who suggested it wasn't possible for Covid-19 to have occurred naturally, naming one specifically; Dr. Kristian Andersen, who said he and his colleagues weren't aware of the natural precursors that could have natually become Covid-19. The report claimed that Andersen and his colleagues then reversed their position and that "It is unclear what new evidence prompted the reversal of opinion".
Except it is clear, very clear, Andersen and his colleagues published a peer-reviewd journal article detailing the natural series of mutations that made Covid-19 possible. The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2 | Nature Medicine
So either Fox News is grossly negligent when it comes to journalism, which I actually don't think the case, more likely they are recklessly bias.

A peer-reviewed article. Not a research study. So, they were able to get some others to review it and get it published. Perhaps others who also rely on NIH funding. Published 6 weeks after they all said it couldn't have occurred in nature. Maybe Fox did leave it out on purpose. They shouldn't have. Still, that detail doesn't change much.
As a side note, it seems quite the coincidence to me that this lab doing the type of research it's doing with tues to NIH, and the food market in question are both in the same city in China.

“Do we even know if they are Nazis? Or is this a stunt like the ‘white nationalists’ who crashed the Youngkin rally in Charlottesville pretending to be Dem staffers?”
It wasn't. The leader is a Neo-Nazi with a history.

I guess some have learned the hard way not to jump the gun about things until they have all the facts but why jump the gun in the opposite direction and plant the seed that it's really a left-wing conspiracy?
The DeSantis camp handled it poorly. DeSantis seemed more intent on holding them accountable for blocking traffic.
The Orange County Sherriff said "I am aware of the anti-Semitic demonstration in Orange County. I along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office deplore any type of hate speech. This hatred has no place in our society.”
It acknowledges their right to exist in America but condemns the hate behind it.
This is all people were asking of the governor, not attempting to smear him. He made it political and invented a conspiracy.

Do you think they are grooming anyone else besides DeSantis? I don't know the answer to this but I'm just curious who you think the candidates for the nomination will be? BTW, Dana Milbank's column on 2/1 was devoted to DeSantis wannabe Glenn Youngkin's desire to re-write history so that white kids won't get offended. His quotes were from a textbook used in Virginia in the 1950's describing how lovely the slaves were treated, how little work was required from a house slave and how kindly they were cared for by their owners. I guess THIS is the history DeSantis and Youngkin wants to teach the students of their respective states (talk about cancel culture) so that they won't have to be "uncomfortable." I could never vote for anyone who advocates changing historical narratives so I'll say NO to Ron now. I don't know if it's possible for anyone honorable left in the party to even run, knowing that they will never get the nomination. Bill Maher had my favorite idea for the Democrats: Biden and Obama can divorce their wives and get married to each other. Obama cannot run for president but he could be vice-president to Biden and they could switch job responsibilities. I wasn't a big fan of Obama (except for having a beer with him) but I can't see anyone better for the job that the Democrats can put forward. Oh how I dread the 2024 election cycle:(

I only go to synagogue twice a year for the "Big Ones." But it is a sad statement that groups everywhere, from NYC to little towns, have to hire security for those holidays. No one should have to steel themselves for these activities. We did it in NYC after 9/11 but only had to do it where I live now after Trump was elected.
$1.3 billion to a China company for covid tests.
Insanity.

It was a research article, not sure what you're referring to, maybe that it wasn't a controlled randomized trial? That's not what would be done to answer that particular question.
But more to the point, it's a bit absurd to claim that it was unclear why they changed their position, they not only stated their conclusions but published them in detail for the world to see.
The whole point of the article and video seems to be that scientists were initially skeptical of the natural origin theory and the seemed to change their position to avoid it coming out that it had originated in a lab since they didn't explain why they changed their position, so I'm not sure how the fact that they did explain their thinking, in detail, "doesn't change much".

Here's another study.
QuoteThe study found that from March through August 2020, implementing widespread lockdowns and other mitigation in the United States potentially saved more lives (866,350 to 1,711,150) than the number of lives potentially lost (57,922 to 245,055) that were attributable to the economic downturn.
Considering the overall huge number of deaths caused by covid itself, I can understand that lockdowns shouldn't be the way forward at this time. The point is a bit moot as all states have been wide open for well over a year with no talk of lockdown except from people trying to stroke fear like the "Don't Fauci My State".
Fauci has no power to lock down. Lock downs were an idea first implemented in Italy and spread throughout Europe and China although Fauci supported the idea I'm sure.

In other covid news
QuoteTwo years into the pandemic, the coronavirus is killing Americans at far higher rates than people in other wealthy nations, a sobering distinction to bear as the country charts a course through the next stages of the pandemic.

They didn't really explain why they changed their minds. They just presented a whole different position.
