Being wrong is not the same as lying.  Republicans should be used to flip flopping

Here is what Fauci said:

Fauci did say, "there is no reason to be walking around with a mask," but to call that lying takes Fauci’s words out of context. The country faced a shortage of high-quality masks, and Fauci also said in his interviews that masks should be preserved for sick people and health care workers.

Did Anthony Fauci lie about masks in March as Marco Rubio ...

Was there a reason to be "walking around with a mask"?  Yes, or no?

He lied about not wearing masks, and he lied about the NIH and their funding of research in Wuhan.

Only someone a bit twisted wouldn't be bothered by being wrong over and over again.

That's how you characterize the events and intentions of Dr Fauci.  Trump was wrong over and over again because he is a habitual liar. Trump lied unabashedly to the American people about this pandemic. Twisted priorities would accuse Fauci rather than Trump, yet here we are.

Why don't you tell us since you are the person claiming that Fauci's statements were lies.  Prove to us that he "lied".

Plus there weren't any masks to wear, not even for doctors and nurses.  Why create a panic when there are no solutions.? The cottage industry of home made masks wasn't created yet.   It was months before more efficient masks were even available. He made it clear that masks were reserved for health care workers and that's the way it should have been.

I'm pretty sure that the POTUS said masks were optional at that pandemic press briefing talking about mitigation strategies.

We're still talking about what he said about masks....it amazes me the things we don't let go of.

But her emails,

But her emails,

I actually was more interested in the funding lie.  Someone else went with the masks.  It amazes me people are defending his action on that.

Anyway, you believe he was simply "wrong" when he stated NIH was not funding gain of function research.  Seems unbelievable to me that he wouldn't have known that, but you're entitled to your opinion.

So, if he was wrong, Rand Paul was right?

And, I don't know why you always bring up the emails.  I haven't discussed those in years, if at all.

The NIH explained that the researcher broke the agreement with the research.  NIH did not agree to fund that type research but that agreement was broken.  Fauci was not aware of that break of contract/agreement at the time in question. This detail has been introduced to the conversation before.

Fauci was unaware,  but somehow Rand Paul was.  LOL.

Even broken clocks and conspiracy theorists get the time right occasionally, that doesn't make someone else a liar.  But Fauci has been a convenient scapegoat for Trump, the fellow who really intended to, and did lie to the American public about the covid pandemic.

Sorry, I'm just really tired of people being so unforgiving that he in the first weeks of covid that he said he didn't think it was necessary to wear a mask and then changed his recommendation.

Just last month Fauci said "“It makes me very uncomfortable to have to say something, but he is egregiously incorrect in what he says,” Fauci said of Paul."   So no, I'm not saying Fauci is wrong and that Rand is correct.

I'm just saying that the idea that some one was wrong about an idea doesn't necessarily mean he lied.

The "but her emails" was a bad joke.  Because people harped for a few years about it just like they are harping about "but he said we didn't have to wear masks!".  This Summer they were harping on about it, and we're still talking about it.

Anyway, for the holiday's I'm not going to participate in political debates.  I enjoy talking with all you and hope everyone whether they celebrate (I don't) or not have a Merry Christmas.
