Something to understand what nurses think about re the Current News and their opinions!

If Jan 6 was an insurrection than allot of the riots of last year where entire police departments were taken over and court buildings set on fire, were insurrection as well.
Nobody has even been charged with insurrection, mostly tresspassing and the like.
So it's okay to riot as long as it isn't because of a "man"? What??
Okay TMB do you think yours do not? I'm not angry. I am the best judge of that. Nor would I be ashamed if I was.
I'll happily join you in condemning all violence and destructive behaviours, but it's a dangerous notion that what happened on January 6th was effetively no different than other protests that were violent or destructive.
The difference was that a sitting President, having lost an election, sowed propaganda intended to create a loss of faith in our democracy, stoked animosity, and then after a group attempted to stop the democratic transfer of power to someone other than him he publicly stated that this was the expected result of his actions. That's an overt attempt to overthrow an elected President by a sitting President. That's bad, and why that's bad would seem to not require explanation.

And the FBI concluded that none of that happened and they are as bias as can be. N
I'm happy to say the events on Jan were violent and wrong but other instances of violence must be judged by the same factors. So Jan 6 was an insurrection? Fair enough but there would be a few insurrections last year under that definition.

The FBI concluded that Trump didn't push a false narrative about the election being 'stolen'? The FBI determined Trump didn't publically say Pence should block the final step of the democratic process? The FBI determined Trump didn't publically state in regards to the events of January 6th that "these are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously and viscously stripped away from the great patriots who have been badly and unfairly treated for so long.."

Why can't when the topic is January 6th can we just leave the topic January 6th without deflecting to other "insurrections or violence". It's a tactic I've seen here before....we're talking about January 6th and someone says "well what about the BLM matters violence and this violence and that violence". It's just a distraction from an unpleasant subject.

Under the standard definition there has only been one instance that could rightly be called an insurrection, and that was January 6, 2021. It is not known what charges and language will flow from the larger investigation and it's pretty easy to doubt the capacity of our DOJ to hold people accountable in consistent and equitable ways.
Tell me more about those riots where the function of government was disrupted. A fire in a courthouse is not an attack on government. The attack on government involved a purpose: Stop the Steal, a target: Congress and specific members of Congress (government),there was a goal: change the Electoral College vote result, there was but one benefactor: Trump. That would have broken the constitutional process for certifying election results and the peaceful transfer of power.
You can gas light all you want about what happened on January 6th but it's not going to work. Those remarks simply reflect your level of thinking and what type of media you must consume to nurture that attitude.
I imagine that my comments do reflect the level of annoyance that I occasionally feel reading these threads. Similarly, they sometimes reflect amusement or mockery. Thanks though, for reminding me.

Please tell me about my racism. What have I posted that you find racist?
I really hope that the Justice Dept eventually jails Manchin!
Being totally honest, I despise this man more than trump, McConnell or Kevin McCarthy combined!
I think that he's the biggest hypocrite this nation has ever seen. And, I hope he's done in for the conflict of interest and blackmail he's inflicting on the American people!
I expect his behavior in republicans, but certainly not in Dems.

Then you're very naive to think that only Republicans and Machin are owned and controlled by special interests and the job market in the states controlled by such.
Machin has at least acknowledged that climate change is real, is happening, and is caused by human behavior and that we must lessen our dependence on fossil fuels. What is not good is that he will scale down the timeline and kick the can.
This at a time when the UN is reporting that climate change is accelerating and that any coincidental gains caused by covid lockdowns has reversed and that time is of the essence.

I haven't had a Democrat as a Senator since I left Michigan, years ago. I get Dan Sullivan . He doesn't even respond to constituent phone calls or emails and rarely visits the interior of Alaska.

Can you show me what building is being insurrected right now? So violence is okay sometimes? Depending on the reason. And who gets to decide that? Dangerous thought process.
