What to do this summer...

I posted about a month ago about camp nursing and decided to go for it!

I did some research and interviewed with a camp in Pennsylvania and they hired me for a 4 week session over the summer! As part of my payment, my 3 kids get to attend the camp also!

We are so excited! I imagine the work itself will be pretty similar to school nursing. They have 4 nurses to do rotating shifts and every 4th night on call.

My kids are practically drooling over all the activities and we will stop in New York City for a few days after camp is over (We gotta plan a meet up Farawyn!!)

I totally agree with this. This winter has been ridiculously warm. I hate it.

I'm in a cold winter states and it sucks here too! Today it was 20 and snowing, tomorrow is supposed to be 60, my sinus cannot handle this!

As for summer, we'll have a brand new baby boy, so not much planned. We'll go up to our camp a few times, but other than that we'll just be adjusting to the new little one's schedule. The husband isn't lucky enough to have the whole summer off, but he gets take several weeks after the baby is born-yay!

I'll switch you climates.

Congrats on the new addition! I am pregnant as well & he should be here by 3/9 or 3/10. Is this your first baby?

I'm working my theater camp tech job this summer and my husband and I planned a trip to Disney World! We have no kids and we have been saving to purchase the deluxe dining package so we can eat ourselves through Disney...

Disney with no kids is my husband's and mine's dream vacay!! We went two years ago with a big group of family and it was a blast. However, we can't wait to go back with just the two of us and do everything we want to do without having to worry about coordinating schedules or if kiddos are big enough to ride. HAVE FUN!!!!

Kids take all the fun out of Disney

I'm saying goodbye to my younger kid before he goes to college this summer.

And meeting with T when she comes to NYC with her kids.

Grand baby #3 is due this summer! Can't wait to snuggle and love on him!

June is VERY busy for me!!! Canada (to see my grandmother), a cruise, a little bit of summer school, local hospital school nurse symposium, & attending the NASN conference in San Diego!!! July: another cruise. That's it so far!! My hubby & I don't have kids so we like to travel as much as possible.

My 3rd actually. My daughter is 7 and my son is 5 and they are both very excited for a baby brother!

Congrats to you!

For those talking about long distance hiking there is an awesome documentary called "Mile...Mile and a Half" about a group film makers and photographers who spend about a month hiking the John Muir trail. It's really good!

Clearly I lack everyone's ambition. I am spending my summer not working, sitting in a chair on the shelf of my pool watching my kids swim. Oh, and we'll go to Maine for two weeks.

I watched it when it first came out - that documentary was what started our interest in hiking/backpacking. This backpacking/hiking hobby is new for us - only been at it a couple of years.

My other long distance hike (maybe more of a walk) on my list is the Camino de Santiago. This one I would probably be doing alone for most of it (takes 40+ days) and my husband will fly out to do the last 100km with me and spend a couple of days in Barcelona or Madrid.

Thank you! This is my second (another boy, my first is 2.5) & I'm actually surprised at how excited he is!
