What to do this summer...

Published

I posted about a month ago about camp nursing and decided to go for it!

I did some research and interviewed with a camp in Pennsylvania and they hired me for a 4 week session over the summer! As part of my payment, my 3 kids get to attend the camp also!

We are so excited! I imagine the work itself will be pretty similar to school nursing. They have 4 nurses to do rotating shifts and every 4th night on call.

My kids are practically drooling over all the activities and we will stop in New York City for a few days after camp is over (We gotta plan a meet up Farawyn!!)

I am not working summer school this summer since it lasts the whole summer. I want to camp up north but for only a short session with other nurses working. I am looking for openings. I then want to work on projects around the house, visit family up north and see my sons off on a short Bahamas Cruise. I really need to find total relaxation!:cool::bookworm:

I work at a YMCA camp in Nashville, TN and we are looking for a second nurse for several weeks this summer (not all summer). Let me know if you are interested or look at the YMCA Middle Tennessee sit for details

Specializes in NCSN.

23 more school days until Summer Break here!

My grapevines have started taking off, so hopefully I will have enough this year for a small batch of my favorite fluid. And jam for the tiny one. :)

So bummed....My little section hike of the JMT will be cancelled this year. The Sierras had alot of snow this winter so 2 of the main campgrounds we planned on staying in will not open until mid-late July. My husband is also worried about snow on some of the mountain passes and possibility of high water crossings - he feels we are not ready for that. :( So this trip is placed back on my bucket list.

On the bright side - School is almost out - 8 more working days!

Sorry to hear your plans got cancelled :(

I am gearing up for an exciting summer!! Kids and I will be spending a month at camp! I am getting all their things together and mine as well!

After a month at camp, we will spend 3 nights in New York City, staying a couple blocks from Times Square. I am equally excited about that part of the vacation! We are gonna do lots of sight seeing and eat all kinds of yummy food! Any suggestions on things we shouldn't miss???
