What is your splurge?

Published

I know the economy stinks and some of you have jobs and some do not.

What is your splurge, when you are able?

Mine is a dolled-up coffee and a sale item at one of my favorite clothing stores.

Tombstone is not my thing, I have no interest in the history of the southwest, having lived here my whole life. The sonoran desert is beautiful in its own way though. I'd highly suggest checking out the Arizona Desert Sonoran Museum which is in Tucson. That imo is definitely worth the trip. Sedona is truly beautiful.

Grandchildren, good slippers, good sunglasses, good bean coffee to brew, fancy teas, a good steak, imported beer, nice lotion and bubble bathe, to name a few!

mani/pedi, nice dinner and a movie, shopping

I don't splurge with money, but I feel that after a few days in a row of working, I deserve a day to lay around the house, sleep until 1100, take a nap at 1500, and eat well. It drives my girlfriend nuts, though, to come home and find out that I've done nothing (literally nothing) all day. :uhoh3:

I'm a huge Wyatt Earp history follower. And I don't mean I'm one of those people who watched the movie "Tombstone" or "Wyatt Earp" and think I know his history. Very complicated man he was. I can't help but compare him to the ballplayer Ty Cobb.

Ok, I don't shop much. Haven't had my nails done in over a year. My last massage was 6 monthes ago with a gift certificate my mom got me 6 monthes prior to that...BUT! My darling, wonderful husband got me the BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT IN THE WORLD!!! I got a Nook and I LOVE IT. Just think, hours and hours of time spent skimming through books, right in the comfort of your own home. I so proudly told him that they even have a memory card that will hold up to (something like) 10000 books! He looked stunned and said "You already can store 1500 books in that thing, really? You need a memory card too?" ROFL! Plan on buying one after vacation!

I hear ya, it's so much fun to be able to have your own library right in your hands! I got a kindle and stuff for it or to read on it has been my splurge this year.

I guess purchasing the "hardcover" from a favorite author rather than waiting for paperback, or going to the library,

dinner out, long weekend away...

Vacation is my splurge. I vacation 4-6 times a year for a week at a time minimum. It keeps me from going crazy from all the work 60 hours a week. My wife and kids love it too. Usually half my trips are just my wife and I.
