What does your nursing uniform look like?

Published

I found out today that our nursing uniform is white scrub pants (or a white skirt), a white polo shirt and a white smock/lab coat that has to be worn at all times. YUCK!! Plus, the polo shirt is pretty thick. Can anyone say heat stroke.:o I'm gonna melt and look ugly lol.

What do you wear to your clinicals?

We look like smurfs, sans the funky hat. White pants, white shirt, white shoes, smurfy-blue jacket.

Specializes in critical care and LTC.

ours were sooooo UGLY!!! They were light blue like tiny pin-stiped with this white button on apron on the front. We looked like lunch ladies! Be happy for the white polo's it could be lot worse. :nurse:

Burgundy scrub pants

White lab coat (patch on sleeve)

White polo shirt (patch on sleeve)

Here's the kicker... I attend an all women's college. The polo shirt is MEN's sizing!! Between the boxy shirt & the elastic waist pants, my figure can be likened to Sponge Bob's.

Wow all the white...my moms was like that and she said she felt like a ghost. Mine are actually nice. There navy blue scrumb pants w/ a navy blue embroried coat (college name) and a white polo (also with the college name) and completely white nurse mates shoes. Not so bad.

Our scrubs suck. White pants, white top, white lab coat and all white leather shoes. The only color allowed is from our patch.

ours is an ugly white polo shirt with green scrub pants and scrub jacket; and not like the green scrubs that dr's wear, "hunter green" like the crayola crayon. it is very ugly, but hey you get to wear a lab coat. i would love that, i had to wear one as a lab assistant, they are so comfy. and maybe everyone will think that you are a dr, j/k!;)

We get to wear any colour and style of scrubs we choose with white shoes.

Specializes in He who hesitates is probably right....

Forest green scrubs with a school SN patch on the left shoulder. Any white shoes (most wear sneakers). Lab coats with school SN patch on left shoulder to be worn on certain occasions. All of the above will NOT be worn again :D. Last clinical day was Friday, graduation is Wed. the 15th. Needless to say, I won't wear green scrubs again.

Specializes in ICU, CVICU.

White button-up collared uniform top (yay! Just like my old Catholic School)

white scrub pants

white shoes with NO LACES!

You guys should make sure your school doesn't have a policy on that before you go spend a fortune on shoes :)

It could be worse but it could be A LOT better.

Specializes in Med/Surg/Tele.

white scrubs, with college logo on the shirt, white shoes. White lab coat over dress clothes for obtaining pt prep the night before clinical. We were able to wear professional looking clothes for our psych rotation.

Specializes in Med/Surg <1; Epic Certified <1.

Hunter green pants and a polo shirt with the logo, purchased from the book store. A lab coat is "optional", but recommended and an be purchased anywhere. Any all-white shoes we want (a little color is okay, but laces weren't mentioned!!).

We have 3 campuses to the community colleges here and each has a different uniform requirement.

Specializes in special needs: children, afc.

ours is a navy polo with school name embroidered, khaki pants and any closed toe shoe for school, white scrub pants with white nurse's/tennis shoe for clinical site along with embroidered lab coat (which always gets too hot to wear with the running around we do) neither of the embroidered things will get worn again (maybe donated to other students when i'm done with them)... absolutely no hoodies in chilly classrooms, and only white underneath -- jewelry must be kept to a minimum and hair off the shoulders!
