Just curious what different hospitals, clinics, organizations etc are giving their staff over the holidays this year. As a nurse I've never gotten more than a couple hundred bucks as a Christmas bonus but it's always appreciated when employers give a little extra. What are you getting this year? Cash? Coffee mug? Please share!
I think this thread would be one that the hospitals/other places of employment wouldn't want to exist because it shows the huge difference of how nurses are treated at different places!!!
You got that right! Not one of the posts I've read has made any mention of anything resembling a 13th cheque, whether given at Christmas, or on your birthday, or the Annual Anniversary of the Screaming Turtles...!
Even my dad, as a UK pensioner, got a double payment in December.
Doesn't anyone in America get a bonus? At any time?
I have been a nurse for 28 years. I got a coupon for $15 off a turkey from a prn job about five years ago. :candycane:This year I do not work for a facility, but have been in this job 3 and a half years, we all got a $1000 bonus. :tree::giftbox::w00t:
Up until this year, all I had ever gotten was that turkey coupon as a Christmas bonus. This years bonus is enough to make me jump up and down. But you'd think in all those years, someplace would have at least given us a coupon for a happy meal or something. :icon_roll

We have bonus kids sometimes:lol2:
Karma honey-I have no idea what you just said....
Basically i was saying. You being payed for Christmas is your bonus. And if you work on Christmas you get time in a 1/2 that extra money you make for working is your bonus. So really no one can say they don't get a bonus because on any other day If you were off you would not get paid for having that day off.. Get Now ?????

Yeah, I was just pulling your chain anyway...Your pay systems work different to mine, I get paid a straight monthly salary; however, because I was off last Christmas, I've offered to be on call for the "big days" to give my pals a break, and my employer pays a call allowance, which is fairly generous....

Wow that was nice of you so there you go your on call is your bonus have a great and happy holiday or holidays to come. These are my thoughts use them as you wish
Give your free turkey to a local food bank?I'm a new-hire who won't get his first paycheck for another two weeks. My family has been hitting the food banks for the last few weeks after my wife lost her job.
I know where a *lot* of my income is going once I start getting those paychecks...to all the places that have helped me and my family get by while I was in school!
DC :)
DC, when I was searching for a job and feeling kind of hopeless, I made a vow that my first paycheck would go to my local food bank. I am proud to say it did. :) And it felt so good, I gave some more money to other food banks. Best of luck to you!
