I know its not just me, my coworkers and I frequently talk about this..
But what illness do you have today?
I swear every day I feel like I'm dying from some other rare and strange illness. I swore I had a blood clot in my leg the other day... (ROFL can we say pulled muscle).
I'm in my early 20's I know my odds of having some rare fatal illness are incredibly low.. yet I cannot go without thinking I"m dying.
Today I have two slightly sore and slightly enlarged lymph nodes on the back of my neck. :imbar Now i'll be paranoid all night I'm dying of Lymphoma.
Ugh I LOVE being a nurse, but I hate this part of it... haha please tell me I"m not alone! (LOL there is at least 3 of us at work who talk about this lol so I know I'm not totally alone and off my rocker).

Today, I have a subarachnoid hemorrhage. I am so glad that I don't have to work because I could not take being in the ICU with this headache
Anyway- I do that stuff all the time- you are definitely not alone :)

After learning about the s/s of ovarian cancer in nursing school (which are pretty much the most vague s/s ever!) I was convinced I had it for a couple of weeks. Needless to say, it was a stomach virus.

Had myself convinced my 12 year old was having a CVA this afternoon. I'm now pretty sure it was just a headache as it went away after a short nap....
My kids also had a couple of cases of pseudo-meningitis last week that turned out to be just a plain ole virus...
As far as myself, if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, walks like a duck, I'm still convinced it's a zebra, LOL.

During a break from school I was convinced I had pancreatitis...turned out to be shingles. I wouldn't wish either one on my worst enemy! Ok, maybe I can think of a couple of people who can have the shingles for a day or two! :innerconf

lol. so i've been watching the tv show house, and the last one i saw, bacterial meningitis was going around. so of course a few days later i wake up with a raging HA, stiff neck, fever and body aches. i was almost convinced i had meningitis, went to the doc, and it was strep. oh thank god it wasn't meningitis, but strep is pretty awful in itself.

Don't feel bad. I was with friends at dinner recently and we were discussing vacation plans. They: SCUBA trips, cruises, south of France, Italy, Spain and NYC. Me: a trip to the Mayo Clinic where I could have Dr. House run a full battery of tests, scans etc. After a full head to toe, I want the treatment. Everything that medicine has to offer - in addtion I'll need group therapy, weight reduction plan, forced exersise, piano lessons and a drawing/painting studio - oh, and poetry readings. Yes, I am sure that all this will cure the MS, stroke, multiple tumors, detached retina, Parkinsons, cancer and hang nails that I experience on a daily basis.
AHHH.... I feel better just thinking about it!
p.s. I'm only a nursing student and am certain that when I start practicing my diseases and syndromes will only get worse.
