There are so many choices:uhoh3: ...which color did/ or will buy ??
I bought a lilac littman lightweight II SE. It is soooooo cute! I love it.
Also I have a navy blue littman cardiology III.
I am also gonna get a free stethoscope at my school's stethoscope ceremony. It will be black I presume. Black is so harsh though!
I will soon be stethoscope-rich! lol
Michele, what is the reason your school doesn't permit them?Mixy, the want the kind with the double bell. I realize ultrascopes can be adjusted, but not only does it clearly state this, they also drew a picture
so I'd really look like a rebel if I showed up with a really cool ultrascope
My school also requires a bell and diaphgram so no ultrascope for me either while in school
But I think that might be a great graduation gift for me :)
OOOOH OOHH GET A DARK color-it wont show pen marks, neck dirt, grunge etc. Also I bought an orange littman with name engraved, but the lanyard with my name badge on it was black and the color rubbed off onto the stethoscope and made it look brown. SO GO DARK>>>> REALLY esp if it is expensive, get light colored cheap ones, but not in the expensive ones.
Choose a dark color to disguise neck dirt and grunge? How gross!!!!! The thought makes me shudder....clean your stethoscopes daily with 70% isopropyl alcohol solution And don't use anyone else's stethoscope without cleaning the earpieces with alcohol first...you might catch an earworm LOL
My parents bought me an Ultrascope as a congratulations gift for getting into my program (I made sure to clear it with my advisor first! :)) It's got a royal blue with glitter head and navy tubing, with my name engraved in yellow on the head (my school's colors are yellow and blue). It's been shipped, I can't wait to get it!
I have been reading the various stethoscope threads and was wondering if anyone can tell me if you really can hear a BP that much better with a Classic IISE versus a Cardiology III? My school recommends either the Littman Lightweight or Classic II (which I haven't been able to find, just the IISE). Also has anyone ever heard that engraving on the stethoscope be it the tubing or bell can ruin the sound quality?
