Hey there!
I sadly don't know any nursing students in real life, so I figured this would be a good place to ask what classes you took / are taking alongside A&P 1?
My professor has sworn up and down A&P is just not doable while working full time, especially with other classes, but what choice do students have? I found it absolutely ridiculous and so discouraging.
So in spite of everything she said, I am enrolled in A&P 1, English 1 and an online Intro to Psychology for next semester (10 credits). This is the most I could squeeze into a comfortable schedule that worked well with my work schedule.
Taking on too much? Too little? What was your experience like?

I'll be taking A&P1 along with intro to phil, TX govt, and film appreciation. That's 13 credits total but only one science and I'm NOT working either. I do have two young kids at home though which is a job of its own I made sure to take easier classes with the A&Ps. Good luck! & I'll let you know how it goes:)

Where I live, Anatomy and Physiology were separate year-long classes. As was Microbiology.
I honestly don't remember how many other classes I took; one was a psychology class. And a P.E. class.

I think this is a reasonable course load. My first semester back to school in 12ish years, I took A&P1, eng 101, intro to psych, intro to soc, and this pretty lame "how to college" half semester, one credit class that was pass/fail. I had As except A&P. If I'd waited a semester or two before taking A&P, probably I would have done better. I just needed to get my brain back into school mode.
That said, working full time does make it a lot harder. If you have kids at home, honestly, I'm not sure you'll get nearly enough time to study, let alone master the material. If you don't have kids, prioritize your time well and give up a chunk of your weekends. It's doable.

I only took medical terminology with AP1 during the semester and did a 20 hour internship per week too but for AP2, I took it by itself during the summer. I got A's in both. I'm the type to need time to study and plan things out, otherwise, I fall behind. These classes are extremely important to get good grades in so that you can go on to apply and be accepted into a nursing program. If you have too much on your plate, you might regret halfway through the semester when your grades are not what you want it to be. But if you feel you can handle it, why not? Just don't regret it later if indeed it was too much for you.

You will be fine!! I took A+P I with something like online child psych or something of that nature and this semester I am finishing up A+P II and Micro. Micro and A+P II actually went together quite nicely and I have had the same material on both tests at times. I had an easy professor for A+P I and I have a VERY difficult one for A+P II.I have had no trouble earning a 4.0 this whole time but I study hours outside of this class and am sitting on an 89 right now. Which is good considered half the class is failing. I say that not to scare you but so you know taking two classes, even with a hard professor is completely doable. I have an A in micro so even though I have neglected it more for A+P, everything is working out just fine.
I wanted to add that I worked full time during A+P I, two kids under 6, and was pregnant with my third and still did just fine. You can do anything you want to accomplish, you will just have NO life. I sure as hell don't lol but it's worth it to me to be outta the social scene in order to achieve my goals. Good luck!

I'm taking A&P 1 (quarter system), psychology, nutrition, and a computer class while working 35-40 hours a week. It really sucks, but I have to work for now. I'm sitting at about 87% for A&P1, but it hasn't been easy. I'm awful with procrastinating so I'm trying to really work on it.

I took it alone, over the summer.

Taking AP 1 right now with the lab, ENG 102, and Psych 203. I work full time, and have a family as well. Honestly it depends on your professor. Students raved about my current AP professor, and I can see what they mean, to a point. However he goes incredibly fast, sometimes stumbling over himself, and at least 3-4 times during a 75 min lecture students ask him to slow down. I ended up having to tape his lectures, as his power points are not the greatest either. I have a low 90 in the class, and a good portion are failing. Some grades are reflective of the student, but also of the professor as well.

I took it alone. I work full time and I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it with another course on top of my job.
Honestly, some people have the ability to take two or three course and do well. I know I'm not one of those people, at least not while I'm trying to keep my GPA high to get into a program. You have to know your capabilities and your limits.

I took microbiology, human growth and development, human nutrition, and english comp 1 with a&p 1. I actually did surprisingly well considering I worked full time and have 2 children under 3 years of age. You just have to stay focused and make it priority to do well. I did them all online and loved it. This forum is a huge helper. Everyone is so willing to help and give advice. I would recommend having an online study buddy, someone in your class or even this forum. That way you can converse over email when it is convenient for you and help each other out and give/receive support. You are going to do just fine!! Good luck :)
