I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.
I worked for long spell in a Midwestern Burn Center...I wish Leno well.

Facing Recession, U.K. Outlines Billions in Tax Increases and Spending Cuts https://nyti.ms/3V2CKRL
QuoteMr. Hunt tried to cushion the blow to Britons by announcing an increase in the national living wage, which protects lower-paid workers, to £10.42 an hour, from £9.50, as well as £3.3 billion in additional funding for the revered National Health Service in 2023 and 2024. He also increased and extended a windfall profits tax on energy providers that have reaped huge gains on skyrocketing oil and gas prices in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. And he imposed a windfall tax on electricity generators.
Many of the spending cuts will not take effect for two years, pushing them off until after the next general election, which Mr. Sunak must call by January 2025. That puts the opposition Labour Party into something of a quandary. With a double-digit lead in polls over the governing Conservatives, Labour could vault into power, only to find itself inheriting seriously depleted public services.
Many of Mr. Hunt’s measures had been telegraphed by the government, and the markets largely shrugged off his address. The British pound, which had risen in advance of the speech, fell slightly to £1.17 to the dollar.
“The chancellor should have come here today to ask for forgiveness,” the Labour Party’s shadow chancellor, Rachel Reeves, said in a response to Mr. Hunt. The Conservative government, she said, had left Britain with “inflation spiraling, growth plunging, living standards falling.”
It appears that conservatives across the pond are struggling to govern when it's unreasonable to engage in trickle down economic policy.

So, do ardent Trump supporters = all conservatives = all Republicans = everyone or anyone who voted for Trump = Republican leadership? Every time I see TMB try to carefully specify what group he is speaking about, someone pipes up and cries foul about how mean he is. Good grief people, the Republican leadership, meaning McConnell, Graham, Stefanik, McCarthy and Scalise continued to Trump through 2 impeachments. They do not represent all conservatives or Republicans. They were willing to sacrifice any sense of decency to avoid the wrath of the former guy.
I don't understand why anyone could have voted for Trump but they did. And many, even after he demonstrated how utterly corrupt and unqualified he was, voted for him a second time. But his voters were not all the same. Some actually think he knows what he's doing (he doesn't) or they actually think he cares about them (he doesn't) or that he is doing God's work (he's not) or that he is the means to control government (not any longer).
Lovers of Trump, those people who support him no matter what and follow him from rally to rally are not conservative. And I doubt, few are actual members of the Republican party. I think y'all should stop trying to pretend that they are.

I read plenty. It's ridiculous to suggest that we shouldn't discuss the electoral college. I don't feel a need to see what other comments might follow that kind of nonsense.
A "rambling rant" in your opinion... you are welcome to ignore my comments if they don't interest you.
If you read it and understood it correctly, I did not allude to the electoral college as not worthy of discussion. As I have written it already, it is your call to go back and try again. Your choice. I will be happy to clarify anything if you wish.
I did say "rambling rant" and I should not have. It wasn't directed exclusively to you. It was a generalization of so many different things I've read. I can see how you would conclude it was a direct reference to you. I would have thought the same. I will be more mindful of my words moving forward.

No. They made a conscious decision to run it, only to change their mind a few hours later.
Now, a second report by a NBC local affiliate includes many of the same details as the one that was retracted. And, includes a description of Pelosi answering the door by someone who claims to have seen bodycam footage.
Why does the federal indictment differ from the local DA's description on who and how the door was answered? Why hasn't that bodycam footage been released?
It wouldn't matter that much except that Democrats, media, and Biden himself in a primetime speech blamed right wing rhetoric for this attack. I'm not satisfied with leaving it at "who knows if it's true or not?"
I feel that if the body cam footage showed even a hint of right wing rhetoric evident it would be broadcast on loop.
I also find it strange that this reported recieves a hasty discipline when other reporters have vastly and even dishonestly slandered people to no end. Even causing the network they work for to be sued for millions. They have their jobs.
It's amazing that some do not think there is a dual standard depending on who the subject matter applies to?

I might be bias but I do not get the impression that Beerman is the most bias member on this thread.

I think the poster you quote is correct.
We are all biased, but some people (plural meaning more than one) are so biased when confronted simply deflect away from the issue at hand to "well what about Trump..." or "what about this and that" "it's not as bad as..."..."ha ha ha you think that's a legitimate source?". Even someone not here for a long time can see that.

The most important thing trickling down now is the pain of inflation..from the unconscionable profits of the oil industry to the little guy at the pump.
