I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

No, I don't like that taxing idea either. A friend of mine said that the hybrids do not travel farther before needing to be refueled but I'll have to look into that further. Also if they start making non-luxury hybrids as comparable to non-luxury gas powered cars will those cars be able to travel farther before needing to be refueled.?
QuoteAt 49, Ms. Peltola will become the first Alaska Native to serve in Congress and the first woman to hold the House seat, albeit only temporarily — unless she wins a full term in November.
Unless this win motivates conservatives to increase their vote it's likely that Peltola will retain this seat. That's quite a shock to MAGAphiles in Alaska... they are confident that they are the majority.
QuoteWell, Nevada doesn’t have mandated nurse-to-patient ratios, according to Nevada Hospital Association.
That means hospitals get to decide what is best.
“In California, they’ve mandated safe patient ratios around 1 to 5 for a unit like ours, which while it’s a lot if you’re properly trained and you have proper staff behind you, it’s manageable,” said Henderson Nurse 3.
However, nurse number four says they were forced to end their promised 12-week training halfway through and take on just as many patients as seasoned nurses.
We asked Henderson nurse number 4 if they felt knowledgeable to care for patients safely after their training was cut short.
“I like to think that I have a good understanding, but a lot of the time I do get lost because I don’t know everything. It’s so hard to learn too when you’re just thrown in with these ratios,” said Henderson Nurse 4.
In a statement, Henderson Hospital sent News 3 this statement:
Thank you for checking in. The majority of our nursing staff clocked in, on time, Sunday evening to take their assignments and provide patient care throughout the hospital. There were several departments that raised concerns and those were addressed when we had nurse managers come in to assist.
We are continually hiring for a variety of clinical positions, including nursing.
Continually hiring...

Who knew??? Best sand for making sand castles is from Mountain/riverbed areas as they have variations in grain size which permit force = suction to hold sand together.

I did not know that.
We have a decent sand castle contest here that attracts artists from around the world every November. Here's a couple of pics I took last year.

Yes. It's called "Sanding Ovations" at Treasure Island, Florida. I'm not sure how long to build but they have only a few days I think. They only allow about 10 artists but they are brilliant. They also have a lot of food vendors and a booths for buying things. It's a funning outing for a couple of hours and really close to me.

Biden Warns That American Values Are Under Assault by Trump-Led Extremism https://nyti.ms/3KDqXWg
QuoteAccording to an NBC News poll released last month, nearly three-quarters of Americans believe the nation is heading in the wrong direction. The F.B.I. and the Department of Homeland Security have issued several warnings about how false claims regarding election fraud are motivating extremists attacks.
“We are in a crisis in this country. There’s no doubt about it. Not just in terms of the sanctity of the vote or trusting our votes will be counted,” said Allida Black, a historian at the University of Virginia who met privately with Mr. Biden last month to discuss the state of democracy. “We seem to attack rather than embrace responsibility and accountability.”
The heckler provided a meaningful contrast. Notice how Biden didn't encourage a violent response to his heckling.

Besides stops for renovations, the Narrative will spend its entire life circumnavigating the globe, making a full trip around the Earth every three-and-a-half years.
This will be interesting to follow.
Quote"Fox & Friends" host Steve Doocy is the latest media ally of former President Donald Trump to call him out over the FBI's search of Mar-a-Lago.
During a Wednesday episode of the show, Doocy asked South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, another Trump ally, for her take on the Mar-a-Lago raid — but not before wondering aloud why Trump didn't hand over the documents to the government and instead took them to his Florida home.
"Well, ultimately it comes down to — why did he have all that secret stuff at Mar-a-Lago?" Doocy asked.

I admit I do contradict myself in this issue and although since you didn't say how I'm not sure in which instance you're talking about. I have said I have a love-hate relationship with fossil fuels and said they'd be the end of us while praising their contribution to the wealth of our nation in the here and now, and that while I want to get rid of them, acknowledge it isn't practical.
I'm all over the place about it.
I think the article you posted said the average price of a EV was over $60,000 and before I posted I looked up what a Toyota would cost as I am fond of them and the cost was over $40,000. But I didn't shop around. So I stand corrected about the price. But still maintain it costs too much.
Even $30,000 for a car is still entirely too much for my budget. I paid $18,000 for my used Corolla in 2019 and I hope my Corolla has another decade left in it and it's now paid for. I want to travel, remodel my bathroom and kitchen, have an emergency fund and retire. A $30K car loan would be prohibitive in achieving my goals and I make a decent middle single income (divorced, no other help). Not to mention car insurance has gone up the last five years an average of about 25%.
I posted the article that interest in EVs went up with gas prices and I wonder how many people looked at the price like me and thought "I'm good...and gas prices are going down anyway".
At the end of the day, I'm aware of climate change and the destruction of fossil fuels, not just gas from cars, and am willing to sacrifice some for the greater good. But like most people it also needs to be practical and affordable.
Stuff like that won't happen in Florida as that is too "woke".
