So kinda trivial question but I'm overthinking about my start day on Monday 9/19
So what do the kids call you?
How about teachers? First name basis? Same as above?
I feel silly thinking this hard. I'm just curious what everyone else does.
I prefer to go by Ms. (last name) or Nurse (last name).Almost all the other nurses in the district go by Nurse (last name). I think the kids should address me with the same level of respect as their teachers and administrators. It becomes difficult since some students and staff are not comfortable with my name.
I'm referred to as Nurse first name. My last name long and harder to say/remember. I don't feel like it's as professional but the kids usually just say Nurse anyway. It makes me more approachable and the kids treat me with respect so it's not been a problem. (Although my own kids think it's hilarious.)
I PREFER "Nurse First Name". Mainly because that's how I introduce myself at the hospital I work at as well. But that rarely happens. Its usually just "Nurse" unless the people who are speaking to me or referring to me actually know my name my principal calls me "Nurse Last Name" though. I'm not terribly picky to be honest. I'll answer to it all!

Kids: Mrs. Last name
Staff: First name, although I'm from the south so I sometimes address the teachers as Mr./Ms./Mrs. out of habit.
How do you address parents? I use Mr./Ms./Mrs./Doctor if that's appropriate. I'm in the northeast now and people always get thrown off by this, as pretty much everyone else in the school uses first names with parents.
