What area of nursing would you like to go into???

Hi, Jennifer! I have 5 kids and I also would love to work in L&D. I would also love to work with the babies in the nursery after they are born. I think that going through a pregnancy gives you that fascination with this type of nursing. Are you in nursing school now or are you waiting for acceptance?

I'm waiting impatiently!

I'm still working on my pre-reqs.... I have a BS so most of my generals are done but I have those darn science courses that expired oh... about 10 years ago.... LOL

I still have 2 more semesters and then I'll be able to apply! I'm so antsy I can't stand it...

Good luck to you! Do you know when about you are suppose to hear back???

I can't believe how many people are waiting right now... It must be soooo stressful!

I like NICU, but I'm leaning towards OR. We'll see how it goes!

I have been reading through that Pfizer guide to careers in nursing and have found sooo many interesting areas. I am also interested in NICU, mostly due to my sick niece who spent a lot of time in one. She is also my inspiration for going back to school. I don't have my heart set on anything yet..hopefully clinicals will help. I think flight nursing would be cool too.

I've always wanted to work with children, so I eventually want to work in pediatrics...or maybe PICU? But who knows, I may change my mind end up in something totally different, such as LTC.

I'm leaning towards pediatrics, but ER is interesting to me too. I think I won't really know until I do my clinicals.

I want the OR. I am fascinated with surgery. I would love to specialize in cardiac or neuro. If I find that I absolutely hate it, then I want CCU or ICU.

My first desire is to work in Pediatric Oncology. Second would be ER and third is L&D.

I won't be starting clinicals until the fall so I often wonder if all that will change where I want to work. :)

With all the people waiting on pins and needles... I thought it might be nice to forget about getting into a program for now and talk about where you see yourself once you are done with nursing school....

I have a particular interest in ED/Trauma and Critical Care; Neuro; Surgery; and Ortho. I think Flight nursing would be super interesting, but in order to do that, you have to have at least 5 yrs of ED/Trauma/Critical Care exp.

I also think Forensic nursing would be interesting.

I can tell you what I'm NOT interested in: PSYCH!!!:uhoh21: I have too many issues of my own!!

My top 2 interests are L&D and NICU. But I haven't started school yet or clinicals, so you never know what will happen - I'm going to try to keep an open mind on all the clinical rotations though
