What was the amount of your 1st paycheck as a nurse?

I will graduate on December 16th, and I absolutely can't wait!! My cousin graduated in May, and she called me screaming about her $4000 + 1st paycheck. This included some sort of bonus, but whatever it was it was nice! She was so excited, and it got me thinking if everyone remembered the amount of their very 1st paycheck as a Graduate Nurse or RN. After being a poor nursing student for so long, any amount...... heck, just a check would be great for me!

$Au520 (after tax) for a fortnight, plus penalties - that was in 1989. I lived in the nurses' home (rent was $10.20 per week), no utilities, had milk, bread and condiments supplied, and often ate in the staff cafeteria (full meal for about $5).

My first check bring home as a LPN 800.00 but I also Graduate December 2005 (12/18/05) BSN-RN, Oh and first check as LPN was in 1999. :)

$224.00 for 80 hours or 2 weeks. I still have the stub. No I wasn't working for peanuts. It was 1975 My brand new Dodge was less than $3,000 and rent on a 2 bedroom was $105.00. $3.25 an hour was good money considering minimum wage was 95 cents an hour. I think it's all relative.

I just graduated this past May '05. My first RN paycheck I got in July '05 was around $650 after takes. No sign on bonus here.

I don't own a Hummer... haha :rotfl: (I actually think they are kinda ugly.)

Actually I drive my DF 1996 Mustang in the summer and 1995 Jeep in the Winter. I haven't owned a car in over a year. It is wonderful!

Me too!!! My dd loves them! I would only own one if it was given to me. ....Actually, if I won a hummer, I'd probably sell it & get me a new truck!

Please tell me this isn't true! How many hours was that for? I am going into nursing because I want to be a nurse but I wan't to make more money than I do now...LOL.
