What was the amount of your 1st paycheck as a nurse?

Published

I will graduate on December 16th, and I absolutely can't wait!! My cousin graduated in May, and she called me screaming about her $4000 + 1st paycheck. This included some sort of bonus, but whatever it was it was nice! She was so excited, and it got me thinking if everyone remembered the amount of their very 1st paycheck as a Graduate Nurse or RN. After being a poor nursing student for so long, any amount...... heck, just a check would be great for me!

$1700 after taxes.

My first check was earlier this year. It was for working 64 hrs in 2 weeks (days). It was about $1500 take home and I felt like a millionaire when I cashed it after being a starving student for so long.

I usually take home about $1900 for 72 hrs/2 weeks now (I work nights so have a differential). This is assuming no overtime or holiday pay.

One of the worst necroposts I've seen in some time. This thread is over 5 years old, and the OP hasn't posted anything on Allnurses since 5/2008. ;)
