I will graduate on December 16th, and I absolutely can't wait!! My cousin graduated in May, and she called me screaming about her $4000 + 1st paycheck. This included some sort of bonus, but whatever it was it was nice! She was so excited, and it got me thinking if everyone remembered the amount of their very 1st paycheck as a Graduate Nurse or RN. After being a poor nursing student for so long, any amount...... heck, just a check would be great for me!

It had a comma in it. :)
Read the paper or check the websites of hospitals in your area to get a realistic idea of what to expect when you graduate. Good luck to you.

Aound $300 after taxes (1972).
With the way gas prices are going, it won't last a day pretty soon.

Around $1100 after taxes (7/05) for about 55 hours in those 2 weeks. That amount made me run back to school (starting ARNP in 1/2006).. I have yet to work a full 72 hours, because I tire out after 2 days and can never come in by the 3rd day.
Good luck

Yup,
That would just about cover the gas in my Hummer and the heating oil bill this summer! :rotfl:
Maybe I should move into the Hummer and save on the heating bill?

I can't remember what my first paycheck was. It was too long ago. I do remember my biggest. Over $6,000.00 for 3 weeks work. I was an independent contractor so that was before taxes. Of course I worked my behind off for it....21 double shifts in a row straight pay no OT. I can't do that anymore.
