Hello, peeps. I hope everything is going well for all of you.

Although I do not want to speak prematurely, a dream may have come true today. I accepted an offer for a work-at-home job in case management with a major insurance company, which has me over the moon because I had been looking to escape bedside nursing for quite some time.

The BSN degree helped make this possible. My degree got me halfway into the door. My interview responses got me fully into the door. This is exciting for me. :)

CONGRATS!! My BSN from got me into a non-patient care job as well - I have to go to work everyday, but we may eventually get to do some time at home. That's AWESOME!! :)

Congrats! I just recently took a position in Case Management with my hospital. It's not a work-from-home gig, but it's pretty great. I work Monday-Friday, have flex time, work fairly autonomously, and the stress level is much lower. I'm also no longer completely exhausted when I get home.

Bonus -- none of the decisions I make can kill anyone! ;)

I don't think that Case Management will be my forever job. I'm planning on using my CM experience to leverage into a unit management position. But, in the meantime, it's pretty good experience, seeing healthcare from a big-picture point of view and working to understand the impact of managed care on the hospital stay.
