So we are experiencing warmer weather now and WOW.....I'm starting to see LOTS of head bumps, abrasions, cuts and bruises as a result of outdoor recess !
Let the games begin !! I'll have writers cramp from writing up incidence reports.....ughhh !

Im getting a lot of scraped knees. I'm gonna make teachers wrap their kids up with bubble wrap before they go outside.

The Fitness test Shuttle Runs are still killing me, but I'm sure the concussions will start any minute now...

I get recess injuries all year long. In winter, they slip and slide on the ice, or fall from slush.

I actually get fewer injury visits when they are outside for gym and recess-more space. Our little gym lends itself to bumps and bruises.

We haven't had any rain since the Christmas break so the kids go out every day. I had 105 recess injuries in February. :***:

Yep, big concussion yesterday when the boys were seeing who could jump the farthest across the monkey bars. The sad thing is the winner doesn't recall his victory since he knocked himself unconscious upon landing.
Ahh, boys.

This is pet peeve of mine. The teachers socialize and don't watch the children. Most recess takes place during my lunch. I have to get up every 5 min and give out ice or band-aids. I could change my lunch time, but I like to eat at noon.

Big box of band-aids to the teachers! Not the ice packs though, those are too valuable to give to untrained hands!

YES. Mine, too! Not only are dangerous activities taking place, but bullying and other inappropriateness, too!
