Hello friends!

I'm creating this as a communication board for new students/applicants to talk on about:

  • Current GPA -- science & overall
  • Requirements needed to apply
  • HESI test requirements
  • Applications -- status or general info
  • Acceptance!

A quick intro-- My name is Maira and I've followed previous threads on here and I love how much information you can get from it! (I followed and read ALL of UTHSC Nursing Spring 2016)

I'm applying at UThealth for the nursing pacesetter program for Spring 2017. The application is due by Aug. 15 and I haven't submitted it yet because I haven't taken the HESI! I'm getting anxious about taking it, have any of y'all taken yours yet?!

Also, I've been meaning to stop by the school and see if my pre-reqs meet their requirements. I'm a bit confused on whether they will average 2 scores of the same class or not. For instance, a long time ago I took a English course and got a F (I was careless and young) and now I retook it and got a A. Another thing that I've been wondering about is what exactly the 5 hours of "electives" are-- will they accept a math class for it?

Well I look forward to meeting all of you!!!! Good luck!!!! :inlove:

Specializes in IMCU/PCU.

Thank you for that AHawkins!

I'm glad to see there are other applicants with GPA's on the lower side. I guess I'm happy to know I'm not the only one.

Good luck to everyone!!

I received today the prerequisite evaluation, which I am very glad because it means that they received everything! My status was still showing incomplete sooooo I am very happy.

It is crazy to think that the next letter will either be the acceptance letter, denial letter, or the wait-list letter. SERIOUSLY HOPE THE BEST FOR ALL OF US IN THIS THREAD.

When did you submit your application. Do you have any courses still in progress?

I am so nervous because I haven't received the prereq evaluation. I really hope I don't somehow fall thru the cracks. I am still showing as incomplete as well...

I submitted my application near the first deadline, which I can't remember when it was. I only have two classes I need to take, which I am taking now. I must get in to this school. I didn't apply anywhere else.

I am not sure if I am competitive enough :(

Any updates from anyone? The wait is so nerve wrecking!

My To-Do list was updated last week when they removed the request for HESI scores (I took it at the end of August).

Other than that...nothing.

I called on the first of September to make sure they received everything, but til this day my application has not updated. It still says "initiated" on it.

I have called also, and have been assured that they have everything of mine, but mine says incomplete.

I am so worried and anxious about this process! I want to get in this semester more than people can imagine. I know y'all can imagine....because we are all in the same boat!

Yes, we are! I feel the exact same way! if I dont get in I would just be heartbroken

Has anyone else received a transcript evaluation? I submitted everything by 8/13 (took my HESI on 8/13 as well). My status has shown as "complete" since pretty shortly after I submitted everything, just an FYI for everyone else applying. Good luck to all of us!

I received an updated transfer evaluation recently.

I received an evaluation about 6 weeks ago.
