I think this forum is the best thing I have found. I have found alot of good information and suggestions. I just wanted to ask all who post or reply to a question to please use some compassion. There is no need to be rude or negative when someone is asking a question or giving advise. Everyone is entitled to their opionion and they deserve respect. I've seen too many reply's to a thread where people are just down right rude. Just my
Thank you:D

Oh please. If you want a discussion that doesn't involve ******* another person off, doesn't involve conflicts of opinion, go talk to a priest.
What are you going to do the first time a co-worker calls you stupid or a patient has no respect for you because you are only a nurse?

FYI, "alot" isn't a word. There's no word such as "alot." You spell it a lot. For example, "that is a lot of weight." Now compare that to, "that is alot of weight."
certainly there is a bit of venting here, where else can you go and laugh about being cussed out by 4 different patients with issues. i don't take offense when they do it. not my fault the remote control didn't work, but hey i got it fixed even if he did tell me i was just another "lying witch with a b"--i know where the batteries are (neener, neener, neener!!) all of them had some form or dementia or alzheimer's.
this week i got a fist to my breast, a bruised up ankle because i didn't get my foot out of the patients way, and worst of all i broke a nail (just kidding) but who has ever heard of a supply room not having an emery board. i ended up with poo smeared on my arm. all in all it was a pretty good week.
i try to get along here and do pretty well, i've only had one post that i was a little peeved enough to write something back to them that wasn't my usual cheerful, silly, helpful self.
heck, i go to one tv show message board that i started going to before nursing school, where the people are so over the top about a certain actress, i actually get a kick out getting them to go off the deep end.
FFS! Actually the proper grammar would be "a great deal" instead of " a lot". But who cares? Why does it matter? Way to welcome the new people. It was all meant in good humor to begin with.
There are very few things that **** me off and threads like this is one of them. It blows my mind how some people get affended by a few written words on a Internet forum. The OP is one of the people I see everyday getting walked over. We should put the OP on Donald Trump's show and see how she handles how nice everyone is to each other. (anyone who gets affended with what I just wrote needs to take a deep breath)

The first comment, well, that may be true, but the second seems to be abrasive. This is a casual forum, not a spelling bee. This can be more of what the OP expressed. I do now we have to express ourselves in a way that is understandable, but that can be a bit much.

I don't find a need to venture into other forums very often because so many things are covered here. May it be political, religious, receipes, whatever, AllNurses has expanded to cover almost all of it.
I do hope that my responses are respectful, but I can understand what Ruby Vee said-no matter how respectful we try to be, there are some occasions where people mistake advice for character assasination. And, because it is difficult to convey tone on the internet, it can be even harder to express an alternative view without offending someone.
