Hiya all this is my first time on here, I am a RN &RM passed NCLEX,VisaScreen, I-140 and awaiting US embassy(london) interview. But I wish to know what exactly happens at the interviews & medicals and what if you have a pre-existing medical condition(ie Diabetes). As I am anxiously waiting !!!! Does anyone know or can enlighten me!!! Thanks
Hi EveryoneJust need some help geting ready for the medicals what do the children need is it Dip, tet + hooping cough
MMR
Polo
TB
Hep B any thing more needed ?
Hep B and if they are up to date with childhood imms. I don't think they need TB unless they are of the age to have at school. Should be ok if up to date will imms
For your children just get their immunisation print outs from your GP. You will have to prove they have had hep b or they will innoculate the first one on the day.
For the adults just get a full viral screen done that is current within 6 months. I got the dr at work to do full viral screen then I knew i had it.

I would definitely check about the TB. I actually had a baby die from TB,that I cared for, so they are checking the children more frequently now. And we did not find out about it intil after he had passed. Many docs are now starting when the infants are just a few months old. I definitely would not be surprised to see the requirements change.
Hi Suzanne
I had chicken pox as a kid, and have some test results to suggest that i have immunity. however, recently i had a blood test which suggests that i don't have immunity anymore (??) - unsure why. what are the implications of this? i can't get an immunisation for this as one doesn't exist. will this pose a problem? it may have been a rogue blood test...

Apparently if you come from the UK you will be ok with this one if you look at the requirements people coming from Uk are exempt as there is no available vaccine.
Oh yeah you can loose your immunity for viral infections. for example German Measles, when I was a midwife and you do routine tests for Rubella sometimes you find somebody who tested positive the previous pregancy can prove negative in subsequent ones and need booster shot post delivery.
