Hiya all this is my first time on here, I am a RN &RM passed NCLEX,VisaScreen, I-140 and awaiting US embassy(london) interview. But I wish to know what exactly happens at the interviews & medicals and what if you have a pre-existing medical condition(ie Diabetes). As I am anxiously waiting !!!! Does anyone know or can enlighten me!!! Thanks
Hi all
I am just checking that all my vaccines are up to date ready for the medical (Re,green card, USA). found out from a friend that went for her med last week that despite having proof that she had immunity for Measels mumps & rubella, she was told she had to have 2 shots of MMR vaccine @£25 each before he would give her medical approval report. This is also going to delay the report & may not be ready in time for her embassy interview! has any one else had this problem at medical? I now don't know if I should just go & get the shots from my GP ready just in case! Any advice?

That is strange - I had my medical last september and didnt have to have anything. All I did was go to the GP and got my Titres done for measles mumps and Rubella...at that time it was sufficient. You need to check with the GP how much it will cost you to have them done..as it may be cheaper than having it done at the Embassy.Sorry I cant help you more...
Regarding interviews - are all the family interviewed together or separately? Just waiting on packet 4 now.
YOu dont need to take your children firstly, which is a big plus!
And dont worry about the interview as they hardly ask you anything - just usually where your job is and that is pretty much it. Oh they did ask me when I had planned to go - and I said in 5 days time - they were really nice and said they would "try" and get our passports back for then............. which they did - they arrived the day before we flew - cutting it close!
It is pretty much a foregone conclusion...as I have said to someone else before photocopy everything you have as we found this speeded up our interview process as they took all them and dont forget your Visascreen as when I had my list of things to take it wasnt on it but they do ask for it.
For the interview you are standing at a booth for all of about 10 minutes.
You will need to take your children to the medical and the interview at the US embassy.
It is only very young children who do not need to attend I believe under 12 years old.
Your 20 year old is an adult and your 17 year old is almost but not quite an adult. Take them with you
ps Do they know that you cant drink alcholol until hey are 21 over here lol

You are all interviewed together. My son was interviewed on his own because he couldnt make up his mind and had to go back to the UK for his green card interview.
He was quick only in the embassy for 1 hour
unlike us we were there all day :uhoh21: typical

Got our paket 4 today, YEAH!!!, it appears that the Nuffield are not doing the medicals anymore, our medicals are at a Dr's in Knightsbridge, London.
