University of Texas at Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

Published

Hello Everyone!!

It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?

I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.

I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!

Yeah so orientation has two components. The first component is an online orientation through Canvas where you watch videos, take quizes, and complete various tasks. If you have all 100's then you are good to go. The second component is an in person orientation. This year the in person orientation was canceled. Bummer I already bought flight tickets, hotel reservations, and a car rental prior to them canceling. O well, what can we do but adapt. So do to COVID19 we are doing the in person orientation online on July 22, 2020. Below is a portion of an email I recieved from the AOBSN:

Hello incoming JR I students,

Congratulations on your acceptance to the AO BSN Program.

The mandatory JR I Orientation will be held virtually, through Teams, on July 22ND. We will miss the in-person event but believe you can receive all the information you need to be successful in the program in the virtual environment. The day will start at 9am. An agenda will be posted prior to the orientation.

so on 22nd there will be a virtual orientation? I never got that memo....BTW - on the canvas orientation is 260 the maximum score you can get? I just wanna make sure I haven't missed any assignment or quiz....

yeah, cuz that s what shows on me to...

I am trying to run a business and make some money especially now when there is no school. and that s what I did during the semesters....paying attention to crap like orientations and stuff like that is nothing, it s just formality, learning and knowing the material from classes and practice is what maters.... during past 6 years I have been studying full time and working full time, even when I was going on campus for engineering major. ...It s called prioritizing....

That thing was the "orientation" due on 30th? There is no actual orientation session where there will be a person talking live to us ( online)?? Does your show "A" like in the pic ? cuz I did all that crap and scored 100 but it doesn't show A, and Miss Ashleigh doesn't exactly respond promptly to my emails....

There is a setting in Canvas to show grades on the Dashboard. That's why mine showed a grade. You have all 26 grades with 100% on each, so you're good!

You clearly don’t know anything about this program. UTA nursing is the epitome of confusion and having a million questions due to unclear instructions. Same thing happens throughout the entire 15 months as well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ nothing wrong with utilizing your classmates for help. My cohort all did it and now we are all successful nurses with awesome jobs. If you get accepted into this program, please do not go in with that attitude or it will not end well for you.

Quick question.

Did you guys have to get Toters for every immunization or just the HEP B?
min applying for Spring and wanted to make sure that part was squared away.

Unless you want to use positive titers in place of proof of immunization, Hep B is the only one for which both immunization proof and positive titers are required.
