Hello Everyone!!
It is finally my time to post to this forum! EXCITING!!! I did not see a thread for Fall 2020 and I might be SUUUUPER early but man that nursing application process takes proper a year doesn't it?
I am done with all my general courses and TEAS except for nursing chem, one elective (health and human disease), Patho, Pharm, and Intro to Nursing. I plan to take CHEM 1451 and HEED 4312 in the Fall 19 semester, apply in January, and then while waiting on that, take Patho and Intro to Nursing in Spring 2020 and Pharm by itself in Summer 2020.
I have an A in Micro, A&P 1, and A&P 2. This has been a LOOOONG journey and I cannot wait to start!

Hey I will be applying to for Fall 2020. I am needing a few prereqs too. I need intro to sociology, developmental psychology, technical writing, pathophysiological processes, pharmacology, and intro to nursing. I already have a bio degree and this is a second career for me. I am a teacher in the Rio Grande Valley. What I have been really working on is getting all the vaccinations out of the way. Some of those vacinations take a long time so make sure you start soon if you havent already. The hepatitis B and hepatitis A vaccination series take up to 6 months.
In the Fall semester I am taking pathophysiology and developmental psychology.

Hi!
I plan to apply for FALL 2020 (on-campus). I am currently taking all my prerequisites at DCCCD, so I will not qualify for any considerations.
In the process of:
-A&P II
-Microbiology
-Technical Writing
( Does anyone know if the Upper Elective needs to be taken at UTA? )
From what I understand the only courses that have to be taken at UTA as far as prereqs go is the prenursing courses: Pathological Processes, Intro to Nursing, and Pharmacology. That is unless you are given permission by the university to take it some where else.

I'm missing the following courses:
-Technical Writing (not sure if I can sub this with Professional Writing...I haven't applied to the school yet to have my transcript evaluated)
-Intro to Nursing
-Pharm
-Patho
I want to apply for the Fall entry but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it without sacrificing my GPA a little lol.
Does anyone know if doubling up on Micro and Pharm/Pharm and Patho is a bad idea? I'll be taking micro at a community college and it's online other than 5 lab sessions.

You don’t have to have Pharm and Patho done at the time of the application. Just before the nursing school session begins.

For some reason I was thinking I had only Spring and Fall to take these lol I forgot about summer! Is there going to be an interview before acceptance? How does that work for those that are out of city/state?

I have not seen anyone post about an interview. Maybe check out the Spring 2020 forum and ask them or the Fall 2019
There is no interview. The acceptance is dependent on the point system. Working at a partnered hospital is also beneficial for your application.

Thanks for the info! I just sent in my first application to the school :)

Not yet, I am working through the mometrix book. I took the practice test #1 and didn't do so hot LOL. I technically passed but I still want to aim for the highest grade possible just in case I apply to a school that takes the score into account.
