    UT Arlington Fall 2020 Cohort

From what I’ve read, 8/10 points is competitive but a lot of people still end up getting waitlisted with that unless they’re employed with one of the partnered hospitals. Houston has the biggest medical center of all 3 so there’s plenty of hospitals to choose from when you’re looking for a job but it takes about 1.5 hours to drive from one side of the city to the other without traffic bc it’s just that big, DFW will be near the school so you could potentially attend on campus instead of only applying for the online school. Austin is a fun city to be in, it’s smaller than the other two I think but it’s filled with younger people because of the graduates from UT relocating there after college. I’m from Houston so I don’t know a whole lot about DFW or Austin but I’ve been to those cities a few times. If you can, try to get a job at one of the partnered hospitals when you relocate. I’ve heard being partnered is the big golden ticket to getting in.

For those of you who have taken the TEAS already, how long did it take you to study for it?

The point system is out of 10, first 8 is from overall gpa + science gpa, the rest of the 2 points are from the considerations. All of this info is on the AO BSN website. I think people have been saying that having 8+ points is competitive or if you are employed at a partnered hospital (advisors can provide the list) it's supposedly "golden ticket" lol not sure though I haven't applied yet

I'm missing the following courses: -Microbiology -Technical Writing (not sure if I can sub this with Professional Writing...I haven't applied to the school yet to have my transcript evaluated) -Intro to Nursing -Pharm -Patho I want to apply for the Fall entry but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it without sacrificing my GPA a little lol. Does anyone know if doubling up on Micro and Pharm/Pharm and Patho is a bad idea? I'll be taking micro at a community college and it's online other than 5 lab sessions.

Oh thank you so much! I guess I'm considered partnered.

Is there a list somewhere or do we just need to ask the advisors?

I don't know how the partnered hospital works. I work for one of the other campuses of the partnered hospital but not the hospital that the clinicals will take place at. Does that count as working at a partnered hospital or no?

Mine's either going to be a 6.8 or a 7.1 depending on how well I do in Microbiology Overall: 3.35 Science: 3.0 or 3.25 1 consideration (prev bachelor's) I'm hesitant to even apply at this point lol
