Starting a thread for CHLA Spring 2025 cohort.
Info session is this Friday 10/4 at 1pm via zoom.
The March cohort will begin on March 3, 2025. Applications will open on Friday, October 11 at 9 a.m. (PST) and close on Friday, October 25 at 12 p.m.
Qualifications: You are a new graduate or an RN with less than one year of nursing experience in any area by the start of the program
You have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Master of Science in Nursing **
**The following units will accept new graduates with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) for the March 2025 cohort: 5 East, 5 West, 6 East, 6 West, Duque, Emergency Department. RN residents accepted to the program with an ADN will be required to enroll in a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) program within 2 years of hire.

They said that the answers to the essay questions were what is most looked at and important. Also be specific about which units you want to work in. Someone said something about if you don't have a preference should you say that and they said no. They want people who have an interest in being in each unit. Working on mine right now!

Did they talk about what the scoring rubric is like, phased screening, and tips/tricks for a cover letter? I saw on the page that they would cover it

They said to include relevant clinical experience. I don't remember exactly but they said something regarding the resumes having to pass one phase of people scoring it (the essay questions) and then you'd be contacted for an interview if you passed the second phase. The questions are what is scored but of course other aspects of your resume are considered.

I don't believe they said, but I think it's a good idea to include all clinical sites + hours on your resume for any new grad position!
