Hi everyone! I haven't seen a forum for USF FALL 2021 BSN yet, so I decided to make one so everyone can ask questions, encourage one another, and share stats!
I'm applying with:
Science GPA: 4.0
Overall: 3.91
Volunteer w/ letter of confirmation: 100+ hours
I'm not sure if they look into this, but:
- Bilingual
Good luck everyone! Feel free to comment below!
I’m super nervous because I applied to the Sacramento campus, and I know they only accept around 20 students for each cohort. I know it’s only been a little over a week since the application deadline, but it’s so hard not to think about it haha ? good luck and positive vibes for everybody! ♥️♥️

They have a lot more emphasis on GPA for transfers than first years. They also look very much into essays. I think the statistic was 383 applicants, and they accepted 88 students which put them at about a 23% acceptance rate. From the video, I think this is the Hilltop campus. They didn't go into much detail about the admissions for the Sac campus.
Hi, can you give me the zoom link or the video link ?

Yeah for sure
Does anyone know more information about the six to seven semesters they mention to complete the program as a transfer? That sounds like a lot to me... almost four years after completing two years of pre-requisites to get a degree that most schools it only takes two years as a transfer. I spoke with a counselor in December and she said it was usually three years but was possible to do it in two.

Sacramento campus only takes a total of 2 years because we go through Summer... hilltop takes 3 years because they have summers off
Hi everyone!
I applied to the Hilltop campus with a cumulative GPA of 3.87 and Science GPA of 3.75. I don’t have all the core curriculum done but I’ll graduate from community college with two AAs. I also added a letter of recommendation and resume (EMT program I’m doing RN, bilingual, volunteer work, etc.) to my application.
I applied to Fresno, SFSU, SJSU, Chico, CSUCI, CalState LA, CSU San Marcos, and SDSU but haven’t gotten accepted to any for nursing so I’m REALLY hoping I get into USF ?

I also applied to Chico and LA. I haven't gotten a reply for Chico yet, but I got rejected for LA. Did you appeal?

Yeah I appealed. They said they rejected me bc I didn’t submit my transcripts to NursingCAS but I did. What stats did you apply with? I feel like ppl with stats better than me are getting rejected left and right....

Oh, that's odd.. (the transcript thing) ? I believe you'll get in elsewhere!
I was a current student and applied w/ 3.91, 95th percentile TEAS, and 100+ patient care hours.
May I ask when did you submit your appeal and when did you hear back?

I just sent it 2 days ago and haven’t heard back yet ? Tbh I have no idea what I’m going to do if I don’t get into nursing school. Do you have a back up plan?

I also sent mine two days ago right after I got the unfortunate email. Also, nursing is a great profession, but there are also a lot more jobs out there. If you are into the medical field, there are many many other career options that keeps clinics and hospitals running. You just need a bit of time researching your options. As for backup plan, if nursing does not work out, I was thinking of being a teacher. I love planning and the balanced work life. Don't stress yourself out! Remember, rejection is redirection! At least that's how I want to look at it. Good luck and I hope you make it into a program! ?

I believe for the Fall cohort, they only accept 30 transfers MAX. It drops the acceptance rates even more ?. Good luck to us!!
