University of San Francisco BSN Fall 2021

Published

Hi everyone! I haven't seen a forum for USF FALL 2021 BSN yet, so I decided to make one so everyone can ask questions, encourage one another, and share stats!

I'm applying with:

Science GPA: 4.0

Overall: 3.91

Volunteer w/ letter of confirmation: 100+ hours

I'm not sure if they look into this, but:

- Bilingual

Good luck everyone! Feel free to comment below!

I did mention them in my resume. I didn't note this in my earlier comment, but I am also bilingual. So I sent documentation of my bilingual seal and my volunteer hours from my hospital. I did not send anything about my current tutoring job.

I did the same! I totally forgot to submit an employment verification letter for my tutoring gig too.. But I assume it shouldn't matter as much since we are applying to a nursing program.

I don't know if they do this, but if they reach out for some sort of verification, I think you should be able to prove employment.

Hey everyone! Good luck to you all during this process! ? Just wondering: are y’all applying to the Hilltop campus or Sacramento campus (VANAP)? I’m planning on applying to the Sacramento campus. Super nervous!

I applied to the Hilltop campus ? Good luck to you and everyone as well!

I emailed the admission counselor, and he confirmed that while other majors would start getting their acceptances by Mid-March, Nursing majors will hear back in April.

It feels like so long from now ?

When I got accepted to fall admissions to Sacramento program I heard back first Friday of April! So April 5, 2019 and I got my email around 5:30pm !! Just some context of when I found out, I know I was going crazy wondering when decisions would be made! Again this was specifically for Sacramento campus!

Of course!! I had a 3.5 and no experience, licenses and I am not bilingual. I had 1 month hospice volunteer work and I wrote pretty good essays that I was later told from my directors that is what they used to pick me

Hi there! I applied for Spring of this year and was rejected so I reapplied for this coming fall. Just to provide you guys with some insight with dates I can tell you when they started emailing us. The application for Spring was due Nov 1st and I got an email that they had sent out a first round of offers to people on Nov 24th. I was told on that email that I was basically waitlisted. I then got another email on Dec 10th saying that they made another round of offers to people and that I was still on the waitlist. I did not find out until late Dec that I did not get in. So if this cycle is anything like last, I would expect to know something before April 1st because we weren’t supposed to find out til Dec 10th and found out before that. I hope this provides some good insight!!

Thank you! May I ask what stats you applied with?

Yes, so for the Spring I think my overall GPA was like a 3.7 and I had a 4.0 in my sciences. However I was still taking classes when I applied for Spring, 1 being micro. I also had no volunteer hours and no medical experience. I think they liked my essay though because I was on the waitlist til the very end. They even said they’d keep my info in case anyone dropped before the Spring semester started. This time around I have my AS, my overall GPA is a 3.8, and my science GPA is a 4.0. I have a few certifications as well. I think the biggest thing they look at are our essays though!

Nice! Thanks for the insight! ?

So I rewatched the nursing information session on Zoom. They said that the average GPA for admitted incoming transfers was 3.5 - 3.6. They have a lot more emphasis on GPA for transfers than first years. They also look very much into essays. I think the statistic was 383 applicants, and they accepted 88 students which put them at about a 23% acceptance rate. From the video, I think this is the Hilltop campus. They didn't go into much detail about the admissions for the Sac campus.
