Hi everyone! I haven't seen a forum for USF FALL 2021 BSN yet, so I decided to make one so everyone can ask questions, encourage one another, and share stats!
I'm applying with:
Science GPA: 4.0
Overall: 3.91
Volunteer w/ letter of confirmation: 100+ hours
I'm not sure if they look into this, but:
- Bilingual
Good luck everyone! Feel free to comment below!

My transfer GPA is 3.76 but I don’t have a science GPA yet since I just started taking anatomy, philosophy and gen psych this semester at a community college. I’m on track for all A’s but do you think that will ruin my chances of getting in since I don’t have a science GPA yet? I plan on taking physio and microbio this Summer. I have no volunteer hours but I indicated that I am bilingual. I think my essay is pretty good and I submitted one recommendation letter.
I’m constantly checking my portal, anxious about the results. Good luck everyone.
They might be a little skeptical since you have no science pre req grades yet. But since your overall GPA is still good then you might be okay. They mostly take into consideration your essay. It’s kind of a shot to apply with no science pre reqs done, but who knows! They look at you as a whole person so it really could go either way. Best of luck!!

Unfortunately, I think it may affect your application. I believe they are looking for applicants who have finished most of their pre req, maybe one in progress. Your application looks great though. I hope I’m wrong, and you make it in!
I do know 2 current students who had both physio and micro in progress, so who knows!

Thanks for that light of hope @aymee. I’m checking the website and I’m looking at this.

I have not seen an update in my portal. I was told that decisions will go out on Monday the 5th; however, I still keep checking because I'm just anxious and had a glimmer of hope that they would end up giving them out today ??

Hey Brian, you have a great GPA, and it's good that you're bilingual and have confidence in your essay. I agree with what the other two have said. I think they may prefer someone who has most of their prerequisites done, but it definitely did not hurt to apply! And yes, you never know because they look at you and our applications holistically ? good luck to you and everyone who has applied. I'm just as anxious as I'm sure all of you are, but at the end of this, we will all be fine no what our outcomes may be! ♥️Sending you all positive vibes.

Usually, the student’s essays are the biggest determining factors. Since this program doesn’t look at TEAS or HESI exam, they mainly look at the essays ?. However, finishing the prereqs is a good sign though! Good luck to you.

Hey there,
Yes, I sent in my letter of volunteer confirmation. I had my coordinator write one and sign it. Good luck to you! We find out if we get in this Monday.
