Nice to see a real leader in charge. Unlike his Democratic opponents, Trump states his supporters should not confront or harass those with opposite political views.

I believe that the government is intentionally terrible at certain things because the industries and corporations who paid for many politicians' campaigns are getting what they paid for. We are a capitalistic society with minimal safeguards against this happening.
I'm fine with individual state run health insurance, in general I think local and state government is more effective than the federal government. I think with private insurance you run the risk of having people with pre existing conditions (cancer, diabetes etc) be excluded. The market has to be regulated to protect consumers. I wish providers had the power over the industry rather than insurance. I think expanding Medicare to cover everyone is the most efficient seeing as how we all pay into it anyway, but I share your concerns regarding how many government institutions are run badly. I think the solution is to run them better though rather than give up on them/ work around them.
As to illegal immigrants receiving care... well they live here...they work here... eventually they are going to get sick or injured and need treatment. They are a necessary part of our society. I don't see too many people born in this country picking produce, working as maids and CNAs and any other number of heavy work low wage jobs. The solution is a path to citizenship or work visa rather than keeping them unseen, unprotected workers.

Our government allowed them to come in for years because we wanted cheap labor MORE than a well-regulated society. Very few people in California would ever cough up the money to pay legal wages to Americans for taking care of the children, elderly parents, their lawns, serving their drinks at the Mar Lago. They have become totally beholden to cheap, illegal laborers because they don't want to do any physical labor themselves. And, of course, at any opportunity, will abuse them.

This is the U.S. Politics Club in the "Breakroom". There are hundreds of other threads discussing MANY nursing topics:

Sounds nice but nobody has a right to be cared for by me or any other provider. If I choose to provide charity care which I do daily that is my choice. I also have the right to deny care as I run a private business I always laugh when the left states healthcare is a right.
Sweden has a population of 10 million and Denmark 6 million. Socialism might work for small countries but we have over 350 million. It cant and won't work. Just like communism, a cousin of socialism, it failed in the USSR it would fail here with a much larger population. Eventually socialism runs out of other people's money to spend.
We all have opinions, I give the US 4.5 out of 5 stars. Always room for improvement.
The Constitution allowed slavery, withheld voting rights, and has been amended (fixed) how many times? It’s not an infallible document and it’s not the be all end all of human rights.
The US spent massive amounts of military and financial might making sure socialism didn’t work- not sure it’s a fair experiment when we’re overthrowing democratically elected leaders in Latin America or devastating their economies with embargoes.
Not sure how you can complain about massive homeless in San Francisco and be like “oh no a system that allows this to happen is totally awesome.” Wealth and resource hoarding and ridiculous housing markets and a shrinking middle class lead to the poverty you’re witnessing when you whine about needing an app to avoid feces in the streets.
Mainstream political spectrum is so limited. You think all your political opponents are democrats and liberals, like those words just mean “not right wing.” There’s plenty of criticism of the democrats, who as a whole affirm capitalism, from the left. Trump is leading a party that is straight up fascist at this point.

Typical Trumpublican, twist and misrepresent what is actually said to fit their narrative. Nice!
That ought to get at least a C at Trump University.
That nurse is an evangelical Christian. I am not surprised. I don't think Trump is necessarily a horrible human being, but his cabinet is filled with many. These people are evangelical Christians.
What a coincidence! ?

How do you define "horrible"? Trump has no ethical or moral compass. He is incapable of compassion. He is greedy, self centered, arrogant, man with lust filled passions. He is dishonest and untrustworthy. That sounds horrible.

The only reason they were there in the first place is that Trump is continually ginning his base with inflammatory language. If you say he never actually directed them to specifically do anything, I'll say that It's entirely possible, for example, that Hitler did not actually order the violence, murder and mayhem that occurred during kristallnacht.
Even somebody like him gets it that the white supremacist vigilante set showing up at protests for no reason can only backfire in the long run.

Horrible as in inhumane or dehumanizing. I don't think Trump is necessarily like that. The problem is that people around him whisper in his ears with policy that is beneficial to their party at the expense of minorities. That is reprehensible. These people are evangelical Christians.

Healthcare is a need. Preventative medicine is best. I don’t believe the government should be in control of healthcare. I deal with Noridian daily which is a payor for Medicare. It’s a disaster. Government doesn’t solve problems, it is the problem. I can imagine government healthcare for all to be as efficient as your local DMV
We need to open up cross state exchanges where people can shop for coverage based on their needs. A one plan fits all model won’t work and would be cost prohibitive. I’m in favor of tax credits to purchase a basic catastrophic plan for US citizens during their working years. We need to phase out paying for ER care for people who are here illegally.
