On Thursday morning, after months of attacks on the United States Postal Service and vote-by-mail, President Donald Trump admitted that the two efforts are connected as a part of one voter disenfranchisement effort. In a Fox Business Network interview, Trump said that the sticking point for him in the negotiations over a new coronavirus economic relief package is Post Office funding: “If we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money. That means they can’t have universal mail-in voting. They just can’t have it.”
They're trying to steal this election via mail-in ballots, hence destroying the USPS and machinery used to process mail. It has recently come to my attention that AL doesn't give voters the chance to correct absentee ballots basically tossing out their vote. I can almost guarantee primarily democrat ballots will have "mistakes" rendering the votes voided. I was going to vote absentee because I need to due to health reasons but If I have to put on 3 masks and a glass vase over my head, I'm going to be there to vote to make sure it counts! I'm so disappointed in the GOP and Trump cultists.
I don't subscribe to any party and try to vote my best interests. Some people are die-hard this or that. Fine, do what you like but how many more crimes does one need to commit or lies exposed before the lights come on and you realize the someone representing your party is bad business? Even lifelong, hardcore GOP are sounding the alarms but they're falling on deaf ears too (no offense to deaf people). Common sense be damned. Humanity is failing big time!
President Donald Trump’s campaign committee and the Republican National Committee has sued to block North Carolina election officials from enforcing rule changes that could boost the number of ballots counted in the presidential battleground state.
The Republicans’ lawsuit claims a new system adopted by the State Board of Elections will allow for absentee ballots to be cast late and without proper witness verification, “which invites fraud, coercion, theft, and otherwise illegitimate voting.”
The elections board on Tuesday issued new guidance allowing mail-in absentee ballots with deficient information to be fixed without forcing the voter to fill out a new blank ballot for November's general election.
The change means absentee voters who don’t provide complete information on their envelope about a witness who saw them fill out the ballot won’t have to complete a new ballot and locate another witness. A voter will just have to turn in an affidavit confirming they filled out the original ballot.
North Carolina is one of eight states with witness and or notary public requirements for absentee ballots, according to the Brennan Center for Justice....
In PA, there is no witness requirement for absentee ballot. I never realized how easy voting was in southeast PA --no long lines, voting locations within 1-2 miles of our homes, absentee/mail in ballot request online, this year election bureau adding local community drop box - located at our townships library.

I heard on the radio last night that if the signature on the outside envelope of an absentee or vote by mail ballot does NOT match the one on the original registration you will be called or emailed. You can come to a local location with your ID and if it IS your signature your vote will be counted. If you don't go look the ballot is not counted.
In 2012 a woman at the poll with a cast on her right wrist had to show her ID because when she signed with her left hand it did not match. A friend with hand tremors told us he now has to show his ID when voting. So far my signature is still like decades old voter registration forms I filled out in the sixties.

Workers in the elections office in Luzerne County are getting training on handling mailed-in military and overseas ballots, Secretary of State Kathy Boockvar said during an online news conference.
"The investigation is still going on, but from the initial reports we've been given, this was a bad error," said Boockvar, a member of Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf's administration. "This was not intentional fraud. So training, training, training."

The usual process when those types of ballots arrive is to immediately reseal them and store them securely with other mail-in and absentee ballots to await canvassing, he said....

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said Wednesday that the city is working on a plan in case supporters of President Donald Trump seek to intimidate voters, after Trump falsely singled out the city as rife with voter fraud and reiterated a call to supporters to monitor polling places in the overwhelmingly Democratic city.
Kenney said the city welcomes official poll watchers, who must be certified by the state and sponsored by a campaign or political party. But he said that if Trump’s comments lead to uncertified monitors intervening at polling places, police may need to intervene.
“If they come to Philadelphia on Election Day, the polls will be secure, and in order to be an official watcher you have to be certified, your party has to file for you to be there at the polling place legally, so we’ll have a list,” Kenney said. “People are simply not allowed to stand around there and intimidate people.”...
