On Thursday morning, after months of attacks on the United States Postal Service and vote-by-mail, President Donald Trump admitted that the two efforts are connected as a part of one voter disenfranchisement effort. In a Fox Business Network interview, Trump said that the sticking point for him in the negotiations over a new coronavirus economic relief package is Post Office funding: “If we don’t make a deal, that means they don’t get the money. That means they can’t have universal mail-in voting. They just can’t have it.”
Trump faced heavy criticism this week for suggesting people should try voting twice, first by mail and then in person just in case. He then clarified on Twitter, “On Election Day, or Early Voting, go to your Polling Place to see whether or not your Mail In Vote has been Tabulated (Counted). If it has you will not be able to Vote & the Mail In System worked properly. If it has not been Counted, VOTE (which is a citizen’s right to do).”
He made this statement to voters in NC, where by law the counting of mail-in ballots can't start until 5 pm on election day, so there is no way a polling place would now if your vote has been counted on election day, trying to then vote in-person is clearly a form of felony voter fraud in NC, as is suggesting someone try and vote twice.
From NC law: "Any person who shall, in connection with any primary, general or special election held in this State, do any of the acts or things declared in this section to be unlawful, shall be guilty of a Class I felony. It shall be unlawful...For any person with intent to commit a fraud to register or vote at more than one precinct or more than one time, or to induce another to do so, in the same primary or election, or to vote illegally at any primary or election."

There are certainly those on both ends of the partisan spectrum; those who will insist everything Trump does or says is bad, and there are also those who will insist nothing Trump does or says is bad. Both equally non-productive in terms of furthering a meaningful discussion, although I would argue refusing to criticize Trump in any way is potentially more dangerous than always criticizing, our system is based on elected leaders being held accountable by the constituency.
TMB is clearly not a fan of Trump, although typically more based on reasoned rationale than rabid partisanship. Failing to acknowledge that the President appearing to commit felony voter fraud is at the very least not good on the other hand...

Do you assume that masks work when you are working over an open wound?
When I wear a mask during a surgical procedure it is to protect the patient from secretions from my nasal or oral cavity. I do not wear a N95 mask unless I'm doing cryosurgery on HPV lesions. We've learned over time that freezing a genital wart can release viral particles that can go straight through a blue surgical mask.
To prevent transmission of viral aerosols I would need to wear a N95. I'm more worried about bacteria contamination. I'm not wearing a mask to protect myself. I wear it to protect the patient.
I'm assuming you wear a N95 at all times to protect yourself. That is the only one that slow the spread of viral particles.

I do not believe paper masks slow the spread of Covid 19 but many people do. I even question social distancing. N95 mask do but most people don't have access yet they still all go shopping.
If the thought leaders that be believe you can shop safely at Costco, Wal Mart, Home Depot etc then by all means you can go to your polling place safely. My opinion and yours have zero value in the decision makers decisions.

I didn't prefer the alternative ---- starving!
We tried outside store pick up (the soonest I could get my order pick up was 3 days away) and the employee putting the groceries in my car did not wear a mask and came right up to the driver's window to find out a name. I got 4 things out of the 21 I ordered. (the rest was out of stock). Of course this necessitated a trip in the near future. What I was most irritated about was the missing birthday cake which I ordered. I called the store manager with my c/o's and was told they tell the employees to wear a mask and they would speak to the employee. When I drove by the grocery pick up the next week the employee was still mask -free.
I gave up on the pick up. The soonest home delivery was 5 days away. I live in a small city - 4 grocery stores and they don't need to compete. I did learn my lesson and go early in the morning (they open at 8:00). It did not have to be this way after the lockdown. But this is the man in charge.

I live in rural Alaska, whose mail service was just directly threatened by the president they elected. That got everyone's attention and all of a sudden all 3 of the state's Trumpublican members of Congress were campaigning or talking about how important the USPS is. The evidence that my Senators didn't want to see of Trump's corrupt abuse of power is starting to stack up and smell.
Snyder decried what he called Trump's divisive and bullying tactics, adding: "Having worked with Joe Biden and Donald Trump when I was Governor, I believe Biden is the clear choice to put our country back on a positive path."
Another Republican governor (twice elected) has persisted in not supporting Trump. In 2016 he refused to support Trump without supporting Clinton but this time he can no longer be silent about what a danger he is to our national security.

Trump now telling his followers to vote by mail in ballot AND show up to vote in person in case ballot not counted, stated in NC and again yesterday in Latrobe PA --- PA doesn't count ballots until morning of election day so online tracking wouldn't show ballot online.
