I just want to say, in the wake of my Grandmother's death and other things I have gone through, I so appreciate the kindnesses and words of wisdom I have received here. I have been a member a while now and I cannot believe how----------

Smart

Witty

Humorous

Wise

Experienced

Kind

Well-Read

Varied in Knowledge, Especially OUTSIDE the field of nursing----

-----you all are!!! I have learned of many things going on in our world, related to nursing and beyond.....HERE FIRST oftentime! You guys are like my eyes, ears and world news all rolled up in one! ( thanks to activist, current events, and other threads of varying specialties). I really appreciate what I am learning here and while we may not agree ( I can be a pita I know), I do admire this group.

Just think if we could add up years of nursing experience of members here and what we have to share!!!! It is without bounds! You guys are the GREATEST! WE can overlook some few negatives when we add up the positives each member brings to the table here. I thank you all.

You Rock Deb

Great thread. I've always enjoyed your posts, Smilingblueyes.

Keep it up!

I agree. This is a great place to come. I may even come here TOO much. :chuckle

Deb you Rock. But MKUE beat to the punch saying that.

This BB has offered me so much encouragement during the times I've vented, the times I've needed it. Plus this BB gave me the kick in the butt I needed to leave a unit I was unhappy with.

Sure there has been some negativity and how. I've been in the midst of a few stinky threads myself. But I try not to loose site of why I'm here, why I stay, why I keep coming back. As Steph pointed out why let a few bad apples spoil the whole bunch. I try to remember that, when there's a angry or inappropriate post, there are 1000 good ones.

Thanks Deb!!!!

I think this board is great! I too find it very educating. Thank goodness everyone does not agree on everything or it would be a very boring and robotic board!! The way I see it for the negative threads, is that in life one must learn how to deal with critisim and negativity, not only in nursing but in all aspects of life. Thank goodness we live in a free speech country and have the right to have different opinions! Great post Deb!!

Hi Deb

I am sorry to hear of your loss :scrying

I so agree with you about this board. It's so nice and reshreshing to find a smart group of nurses who aren't afraid to have an opinion. (I know I come on strong but I really respect and enjoy everyone.)

hi Deb

great thread! this is the only BB I am on (and given the amount of time I spend here- just as well) I have found support, wisdom and humour (even if you lot can't spell!) its a place to vent in safety, where I know I will find people who will understand what it is to be a nurse- 'cos sometimes people just dont understand! It's just so great to know that we nurses are the same the world over.

you are all a great bunch of people and I am so glad I found my way home!!

I have said it before and I will say it again: This board has been a life saver for me in so many ways. The positive definately out weighs the negative by far. At times there are even valuable lessons we learn from the negatives. I cant think of a single person I dont enjoy on this board. Thank you for being here. And a big thank you to Brian for sticking it out with us even when it got tough. Thanks smilingblueyes for reminding us of what we have, eachother.
