Live simply!
You need less cash.
You need to work fewer hours for that cash.
Fewer hours mean less opportunity for frustration.
Now if I could only convice my family to give up their Net Flix, Directv, cell phones, internet, and vacations.

So very true! I was so broke, couldn't even pay attention.

Apply for every grant, scholarship and every bit of money out there! Unless you're like me... I applied for a county grant, so they put my unemployment payments on hold. So while I'm waiting to find out if I got the grant, I'm not even getting my unemployment anymore, which is my only source of income. I'm so beyond frustrated. BUT I'll get thru it....
You can save a bundle buying used books! At my program, you can be a tutor (once you pass your some classes with a high enough GPA), would be super nice since they are much more able to work around your class schedule, and might look good on a resume. Sell fluids! Blood, semen, plasma, etc. Carpool with classmates if possible. Pack lunches, make coffee at home. Give up some of teh fun extras like Netflix, dinners out, movies, shopping (unless very neccesary stuff), but keep in mind it's only temporary! A little sacrifice here and there can go a long way.

I hear they pay like $5,000 for donating your eggs, just sayin' ... too bad that was never an option for me, I would have happily provided like a chicken

I am officially rolling on the floor from laughing right now. :) However, I will say that it makes me appreciate having a little bit of extra money. I went through this when I was younger and in nursing school for the first time (my ex made me quit after I was one class away from graduating...), so I definitely understand. Just keep in mind that the ones who had to make such sacrifices will be the ones who usually appreciate it the most once they finally graduate.

I started reading this thread because I too will be on a tight budget and thought it might contain some tips..... then I just giggled my way through it and no longer cared about poverty. You guys/gals are a crack up :) Thanks for the laugh!

I've been a nurse for a little while and I'm still on a tight budget. A dollar just doesn't go too far...

I get that this is supposed to be humor, but the flippancy about selling off your gametes is really disturbing. Personally I couldn't have my children out in the world with God-only-knows-what happening to them, and God-only-knows-who for parents.
