Maybe it is the stress that I graduate next month...but it seems like every time I come on here I see a tread each (some times more than one at a time) stating "I failed the NCLEX.!"..."NCLEX: 5th times a charm?"...or "Where are all the New Grad Jobs?"..."Graduated Nov 2008 still not job!"

Ew, it makes me want to vomit a kidney basin full of nerve and anxiety! :Barf:

Your stressed brain is focusing on those threads instead of the ones that say, "Yay, I passed" or "Yay, I got a job".

Keep your eyes on the prize! It will happen. :nurse:

People are more likely to post negatives than positives--more pass than don't, and more get jobs than don't....

Eh, I graduated, has job lined up that I started 2 weeks after school ended. Worked for a month as a GN, then passed NCLEX on my first try.

don't try to solve all your nursing fears all at once. just concentrate on passing your nclex. once you become a nurse, then you can worry about the other stuff. and as far as available jobs, they are out there; you just have to look for them. i guess it depends on what part of the country you live at, because here in west texas, the hospitals are begging for nurses, new grads and experienced. so one thing at a time; remember the old chinese proverb that says, "a thousand mile journey begins with the first step." good luck!

We could have a perfect economy, with nursing jobs aplenty and there would still be those posts. Mostly I believe because we don't get all the details in them. Just the general complaint of not getting the prize.

Study for your test, don't reschedule it out of fear, have a nice dinner after it is over and just let be what will be.

Best of luck!

Me too! What I DIDN'T do is start a thread about it....it just would seem mean :(

You can totally do it- keep up the hard work and stay positive. Good luck!!!!

Keep your eye on the prize and you will definitely make it! I did it in one time and didn't think I would or even could because of the many posts on here that you see. Just keep studying and know what you are doin and you'll definitely get it!

Try not to worry so much. I had a baby literally days after finishing school in December and didn't even think about NCLEX for the first 6 weeks afterwards. I then studied for what I thought wasn't nearly enough time, but took NCLEX anyway because I just needed to get it over with and either pass or fail and find out what I needed to study more. Much to my surprise, I passed with 150 questions at the the end of February.

My job search didn't go as well I would have hoped, but I accepted a part-time position at the LTC facility I had been working at as a CNA for the past two and a half years. It's not my dream job, but it's a good starting point.

And if you're going to vomit, grab a big wash basin, not the little kidney shaped ones, much less risk of it overflowing! :chuckle

I joined this site when I was a nursing student. Loved it from day one...however, by the time I graduated, I had to stop posting here for awhile for the same haunting reasons you did...those NCLEX threads on failing. I could not take it on, and to be honest, I could not even rejoice at the happy ones, because none of them applied to ME. Each person will be taking an individualized exam, no two will be exactly alike. Two people can walk in together, one answer 75 questions, the other 260. Doesn't mean that they both failed or passed. I had to enter into my own world and just focus on answering questions, and as sad as it was, I even had to shut allnurses down to save my nerves.

It is true, more pass than fail. And, each person has to walk their own path. At least get yourself to the point to pass the exam before you start worrying about whether you get a job...'cus if you don't pass NCLEX-RN, you certainly won't. :D Best of luck to you...I do remember having those nerves. It was not easy.

I just graduated nursing school in Feb. and took NCLEX--RN in March. Pass with 75 questions but walked out of the testing center feeling like I failed. Just go in there and do what you have been taught to do. You will be alright.
